Hi guys looking at buying a 2009 CVO road glide is
There anything that I should be looking at as far a problems
With the bike any recalls I should know about and overall was that a good year
the one I'm looking at has 34000kms pretty much stock but the pipes
-
I took my lifters and cams out at 30K but they showed no sign of abnormal wear. There was a rear wheel recall but the bike should have had all that done. You can go on the HD site to check to see if all the recalls have been done on that bike or ask the dealer to run the vin, it should show all work already done. Have fun, you'll enjoy it, did you get a good price?

With the Lowers, Windshield, Pipes, TourPak, Stereo, Passenger Floorboards, etc... that '09 has a good bit in it already...
-
X2, with everything said above and check on the recalls for the rear brake switch and if you want, some plastic tabs covers for the fuel tank screws.
Other then that just ride and enjoy!

I also see the stock seat is still on it (looks like it), you'll be changing that soon enough too, most of them failed in the middle and left a gap between the front of the seat and the tank.

Billy thats a nice looking ride and the fastest color also !! :huepfenjump3:

thanks guys going to make a deal on her tomorrow he's asking 25.500 I got him down to 24.500 he said that was the lowest he would go
-
That's a pretty good deal with all the extras on it. Is it a US or Canadian bike?

I had that happen on both the original seat and the replacement seats. The scary part was that it would detached at the front of the seat from the hook near the gas tank while I was riding. This happened several times and HD dealer did not consider it a safety hazard and refused to replace it with another type of seat.
 :nixweiss:

i had the same bike, same color and got lots of complements on it. Price is a little high but not out of line. No mechanical problems
-
So far, 25,000 trouble free miles from my 09. Although, I've replaced the seat, lifters, compensator, plugged the hole in the swingarm, intake/exhaust/tuner/dyno tune, none of which really had to be done other than trying to be proactive. Wouldn't trade it for a new one! Good luck with your deal.

A LOT of expensive factory and aftermarket parts for the price!
Take some pictures when you get it, might be hard to get a real good picture because your big smile might interfere with the camera.

Man that is a good price, I wouldn't let mine go for that price, well done on the find. I bet that bike in 09 was 42k cdn like mine.

Looks like a very good bike at a very good price when you go to looking at all the extras on it. 45,000 on mine and no issues other than the norm

Cangratulations, nice bike with lots of extras at a great price. I wouldn't sell mine for that. I'd seriously consider replacing your lifters. It will save you an engine when it happens. Happened to me for $3500. Lifters are a lot cheaper. I'm replacing mine now every 20K just because. Have fun riding
-
whats up with the lifters
-
whats up with the lifters
Correct me if I'm wrong but I do believe that the 2009 had the "B" series lifters installed. (Which to date were the best ones) I had them in mine.
The MoCo has/had problems with their lifters blowing up and sending pieces everywhere. Some have had them last or should I say go bad from at 17k on the clock. On average, it been reported around 20k to 30k miles.

Congrats, nice bike and at a good price. I know if I were selling mine I'd want more than $25k, lol.
If you are considering doing the lifters or any other engine work, I highly recommend Don Morris at Stay Tuned Systems in Mount Hope, ON (Hamilton mountain). He has done about 30 of his "110 package" on CVO bikes, where he doesn't throw a pile of parts at the engine, but rather modifies and massages it with his combination of headwork/TB porting/re-degree'ing of stock 255 cams. He gets real good results, and is a stand up guy.

Welcome to the darkest side Road Glide and CVO that totally rocks. I'm an MSF rider coach and have nearly 49K on mine with just routine maintenance. Upgraded to stage 1 and SEST tuner, V&H Hi Output mufflers with V&H dresser duals. Over 110hp, thinking about trying Thunder Max for better performance in the high country where most of our weekends are spent. 8)

Billy, I boight same bike 10 days after you. Only thing i see different, I didn't get the passenger backrest, just tour pack w/speakers. Got mine with only 3600 miles, I don't know how many km's that is, but still pretty low. ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!!!
-
