Title: Chrome chipping on front forks
Post by: Screamin Dyna on May 25, 2007, 10:56:23 AM
Hey all wondering if anyone else has experienced this.  I am seeing some chrome chipping on the front inverted forks down where the legs go into the bottom retainers.  It is very minor now but could get worse.  I am planning on turing the issue into the dealer and see what harley says.

Thanks
Phil

This should be a warranty item. Good luck on the replacement and let us know how it works out.

Phil,

I have this problem right now as well on the right side. It goes to the dealer here shortly for this and the other recalls.

Regards,
Shawn

I had the same problem.  The Dealer replaced both fork assembly's (warranty) Even though the right side was the only one that was pitting.  :2vrolijk_21:

Me too, took the bike to the dealer where they photographed the bad chrome.  Should hear this week if the moco will allow the claim.  I  took a photo of it also, see below.

That looked exactly as mine did :nervous: Took longer to get the fork assembly than it did for Mo-Co to OK the warranty work they approved the the work the same day :2vrolijk_21:

I had chipping on both forks, both trees, and a few other pieces. All the pieces seem to be the chromed alum. The dealer replaced everthing with no hassles.

That looks bad and I am glad the dealers are taking care of it for you.
