Fat Cat & TTS added
« on: April 06, 2009, 11:51:53 AM »

HD-Dude installed D&D 2:1 Fatcat and TTS.  Much cooler engine, better torque and crisper throttle response.  Dyno numbers were 95.52 hp & 117.95 tq.  If anyone has a use for my slightly used Xied's, drop a line and I will put them in the mail.

I'm partial to the stock style pipes but if I made a change, these would be high on my list. They look very nice on that bike.

I never thought that I would migrate from the stock pipes/ECM but I am sure glad that I did.  If one were to test ride both bikes (before/after), everyone would buy the upgraded otpion.  Yes, I did install the quiet baffle but it is still very loud according to my wife...  This is my first HD (although I live in CA, I am from WI) and I am having so much more fun with the upgrades (less than 6 months and about 2,500 miles) - nothing like coming home with white knuckles from riding.

Had my new 2009 FXDSE (same color as your pics) two weeks; have 1500 miles. Want new pipes though; can't hear mine. Want to keep the original headers, becuz I  like the shape as opposed to the way the regular Dyna header drops nearly straight back instead of curving forward to join along side the front header.

SWEEEEET!! Thanks for adding the pics.

I'm thinking of adding the D & D Fat Cat with the ThunderMax EFI Zip Kit, the folks at Zipper's recommended the louvered baffle for full range performance but your post has me interested in the quieter baffle. How many miles do you have on the pipe now? Has the sound changed much since new? I also wanted to keep the heavy breather because I like the style.

My only problem is that I like to exceed the speed limit on occasion (ha!) and don't want to draw too much attention but would still enjoy the performance upgrade. How has your experience been with that aspect so far?

I'm seriously considering this D&D setup and wondered if anyone has the part number. I sent Hotbird a private email but haven't heard from him/her yet and I'm anxious to get this done. Also does anyone know of any other sites with pictures of this exhaust on a Fat Bob?  All the vendors selling this show it on other bikes and not the Fat Bob. I'm sure the part number is 496-32BBQFB. I just want to comfirm it.
Thanks,

I ordered the V&H ProPipe Chrome. And I'm starting to think this forum is dying. Hope I'm wrong.

What brings you to that conclusion?

Have you sent hd-dude a pm or called his shop?
There is no better service in motorcycling than Jim's.
And he can sell you the pipe.

Not a lot of new posts and it seems there are few replies to the posts made. Of course it could be that I don't post much of anything interesting  Plus these bikes aren't made anymore so some interest is lost with that. Two years old and we are obsolete? Somebody needs to form a reunion trip, CVO Fat Bobs only. Of course my new CVO SG came in yesterday and I now will be looking at that forum.
