The history of the bridge is what earned it's state park designation, but it became famous in 2003 when a tornado ripped through the valley and toppled the bridge.

Interesting thing about that bridge and the storm that demolished it is that there was no other evidence of a tornado.  No one saw it.  It had some distinction as the highest/longest/oldest steel bridge when it fell.  I don't remember what it is.  My brother rents land on the reservoir from the Seneca Indians for his motor home.  His site is only a couple of miles away.  As you can see, it's very rural.

Got back on the 30th, did over 5000 miles. I had to make some changes on route, hit the road blocks in Cedar Rapids had to detour east to Illinois to get to St. Louis.
The Ferry ride to Canada was great did three of them on that Sunday.
Canada was awesome on the North side of the lakes, glad I had a six gallon tank not many gas stations.
Got hit with everything but snow in Canada, had to break out the long underwear when the temp dropped to 40 degrees on Lake Superior.

Because of the flooding I went West to Little Rock and Texarkana to visit friends and family, then to New Orleans.

I had over a dozen bug bites on my neck and arms, I will never complain about the bugs in Florida again.
