My first ride was to get bike from 18 wheeler to home about 2 miles
My ride today was 30 miles and I noticed a wobble when shifting. Then I stopped and took off again and the Bike wobbled as if it had a flat tire and made a clunking sound. My step Son picked me up and off to the shop. I suspect that the Swingarm isolators are broken. Someone one previously replaced the original belt for some reason and didn't reassemble it correctly. But why was it replaced.
Carfax can be used on Harley if you enter the 17 digit VIN. I does not show any accidents.
Tank, Carfax is only as good as the information thrown at it. That's the bad news about that system. The bike could have been a total or major repairs due to a bad accident. However, if it was repaired at home or through a body shop using cash and not through any insurance claim, Carfax won't have a record of it. We ran into that with a company van we purchased at a sale in KY a few years ago. Clean Carfax and clean vehicle...almost too clean as it turned out. Wouldn't stay in alignment and other issues. Took it to our local shop and the entire front half from the firewall forward had been replaced....we contacted the previous owner and yep, it had been in an accident hitting in front and rear. They repaired it out of pocket and in house so no official record because no insurance claim. There was no police record either as it occurred on their site. We took the loss and salvaged the van.
That's a long story but the short of it is don't count on Carfax.
That miss-alignment would be driving me nuts, too. It may be the fender but from what you are describing after your 30 mile ride, it's sounding more like mechanical issues. Good luck
