Well, I have gone over the Harley site for all of the models... and I must say that I am not very impressed at all.
Yeah, the new radio screen looks nice... but as was pointed out here, I don't want my GPS down low like that. I like my 665 right where it is... up on the left side of my fairing where I can reach it easily with my left hand.
I like my fairing much better. I don't like that FUGLY vent in the new fairing at all... ruins the upper look completely. And, as was mentioned, it's a bug trap.
I don't like the more rounded look of the bags, either. They now look more like metric bags to me. The Tour Pak lines are OK, but I don't like losing the side lights.
Losing the bag speakers and the lowers with speakers on the CVO RK? WTF? THAT's a big step down! The '14 SERK is underwhelming, to say the least. Last year's SERK paint was more interesting, too.
The CVO Deluxe looks quite good, but it isn't my cup of tea. The CVO Breakout is very nice, but I like the 2013 paint better.
The Touring paint jobs are once again less and less interesting, with less creative graphics. Honestly, I think 2012 was the height of creativity for CVO paint across the line. I like the new candy orange, but it's only on the Ultra... not the Limited nor CVO Limited. The new Amber Whiskey is OK, but is too yellow and not orange enough for me. The CVO Limited colors and scheme are just BORING. Frankly, they look like a Lexus or Infinity... which is the crowd the new CVO Limited seems to be aimed at anyway, with it's mind-bending $39K price tag. My wife's Mercedes turbo 250 costs less than that!
I don't get the SG Special at all... what's so "special" about it?
Oh, and NO mention of liquid cooling ANYWHERE on the Harley site! Maybe they decided not to release it... Or maybe they just don't want to talk about it.
I think the MoCo is really losing their way and their heritage. They aren't making motorcycles anymore... they are making increasing mundane two-wheeled luxury cars for the smaller and smaller number of people who can afford a CVO these days.
The MoCo has probably gotten their last new bike out of me. But I have the Honey Badger... and neither of us give a CHIT!
