Transmission oil Leak.
« on: August 28, 2023, 08:22:45 AM »

Hi All,
Have had a transmission leak now (off and on) for 4 years, started with the big output sprocket shaft seal, changed that out with new bearing because of scoring on the seal bearing surface, all was well for about 500miles, then leaking again, this time was the (New) 12077 seal that goes between the input and output shaft, changed it out for anohter new one (found the new old one was loose in the bore), fitted this time a cometic seal, again fine for about 500miles and now leaking again from the same seal, anyone got any idea why this keeps happening. Thanks.

Sure it's not a shift shaft seal leaking?  Both of mine were notorious for that until I replaced them with Cometic seals.
