Title: EZ-Start compression test
Post by: Farm boy on July 29, 2018, 09:25:06 PM
I am looking at a set of EZ-Start 570G cams. Since they lift the exhaust valve a little during cranking,  how do you get an accurate compression test ?

Couple of options.  Loosen the exhaust pushrods or pull a spark plug and briefly run it on one cylinder.  Then do the same for the other cylinder.

Good answers right there. It's also a good idea to get the numbers when the build is fresh so when
you go to compare them later on, you have a baseline to work from.

Don't forget to block the throttle open too (if you're doing the Ex pushrod option)

Cheers,

Sounds good. I thought about loosening the exh pushrod, but wanted some verification. Never thought about running on one cylinder.
Thanks for the input.
