Title: corbin ???
Post by: BAKRDS on October 28, 2009, 07:50:25 PM
OK Seems there's not much support for Danny Grey seats.Anybody know if a Corbin Classic Solo will work with a solo tour pac rack.Had to cut & weld the rack on my '04.Just as soon not have to do that again.

It works with a solo luggage rack which should mean it will work with a solo TP rack.

Called Corbin today & they said it won't fit.Problem I had with my '04 was the the rear of the seat that covered the lock stud kept the tour pac rack from going foreward.Ended up cutting & rewelding the rack. Not something I want to do again on a $200 part.Very interested to see how you make out.

Wouldn't that mount in the same location as the solo luggage rack???  Here is a pic of JC's bike with the solo luggage rack and the Corbin Classic Solo seat. Sorry to steal your pic JC :)

The 09 and 10 Corbin bike seats mount just the opposite as the 04 (other wise, I could have used my existing Corbin).  With the 10, the tongue is at the back and the mounting pin is at the fuel tank.

Who did you talk to at Corbin?  Which one did you call Cali. or Fla?

I can see where it would be an issue on the 04 but I'm not sure it will not work on the 10.

Don't know who I talked to in Calf.but made sure he knew I was talking '10.If the post is in the front there's no reason they couldn't make it fit.Just as soon not have to send it back 2 or 3 times through.

As I suspected.  The people that work in the offices at Corbin don't have a clue what goes on out in the factory.  When seats are custom fitted (ride in) there isn't any log of that kept.  So they don't know what will fit what unless they've personally done it theirself.  That's an area where customer service could improve greatly.

There are so many variations just for HD alone.  Couple that with all the other makes and models that they're trying to stay current with and you can see where it would be a challenge logistically to track all the various options for each make and model.
