The SEEG needs love, too, so what better way to show her I love her than CHROME! :2vrolijk_21:  Actually, I ordered this stuff back before HS, hoping I could get it installed for the trip, but due to our move a couple months earlier, my address was no longer "confirmed" with PayPal.  So, after several weeks of trying to contact Eastern Performance without success and finally mailing a personal check hoping that I would get product :nervous:, a box finally showed up today.

After I got the one tip on, I thought, dang, I should have taken some before and after shots.  Well, this will have to do.  Which one do you like better?  I don't think we're going to need a poll for this one.

Kury mid-frame covers . . .

(I got the neck covers, too, but they will have to wait until I have more time to remove the lowers.)

Very nice Brian!

How many buckeroos for the tips?

Nancy is back in the mountains this weekend with her mother and sister so I went to the garage tonight to show some love to the Lowrider. Since she got the dresser she has put almost 4K miles on it and maybe 50 on the Lowrider.

Give that SEEG some love. It's what brought you here to start with and that's a good thing!

First off Brian the mods look good (and they are on the right bike). :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

I had actually thought about the chrome exhaust tips, but the more I looked at how the black swoop on my saddlebags ended the black tips on the RH looked like an extension of that swoop so I'm keeping the black for now.

Hey Brian

Looks good, i put the neck covers on and did't take the lowers off, not a real problem.
Now that you have the mid frame chrome check out the piece that goes in between them, just put mine on last week and i looks great.
Makes it look like one piece of chrome from one side to the other.

Ernie, thanks for the compliments!  On an '05, you probably could get the neck and downtube covers on without removing the lowers, but on the '04 which has the earlier style lowers, I don't think it can be done.  I did a quick test fit and don't see any way to slide 'em back there without getting the lowers out of the way.

I'll have to check out the other piece you mentioned.  I think I like this chrome stuff! :2vrolijk_21:

Gary, I never would have changed mine out if they would have stayed black, but in natural daylight they are somewhere between "rotten grape" and "baby $h!t brown." :nixweiss:

There has been much discussion about what causes the factory Rinehart tips to turn color, mostly centered around the tuning of the motor.  Well, I noticed mine are much more discolored on the tops than on the bottoms.  This leads me to believe it might be a UV thing, where the sun is actually causing the anodizing to fade.  I dunno, just a guess, but I will get some photos of my tips in some better light and post to see what you guys think.

Unfortunately they do eventually discolor, but I'd still rather replace them w/black. I have an extra set of blacks now that I haven't put on yet so I'll be straight for some time.

Brian, when are you going to Georgia? We're cutting over to I-24 and heading down Friday morning. I'd guess it to be 350-375 miles from here. Maybe we could hook up and ride down together. I'd think you'd bring I-24 down from Illinois through Paducah?

Ken, you're right, I'll be catching I-24 just south of Marion, IL and going through Paducah, Nashville, and Chattanooga.  I'll have the bike loaded up in the :trailer: for this run, though, and Right now, I'm only about 40% sure I can go. :nervous:

It's a little over 600 miles for me, and I'm thinking it's going to be close to noon before I hit I-24.

Brian,

The tips looks great.  I put them on both the 05 and 06 a few months ago and I've been happy with them.  It was really a tough decision because I really liked the stock Rinehart tips.  I just couldn't stand the color change though.

Brian,

aigh't den. I'm keeping it in the back of my head, I might need to trailer also. Depends on the weather etc. One more option, if you're interested, is:

Trailer to my place the thursday before. It doesn't matter what time you'd get here, You'd have a place to lay your head and rest, and we could ride from here Friday morning. Just an option if you're interested. Of course, weather permitting.

I'm riding up to Cairo Illinois this morning and across the souther part of Illinois over to Cave in rock. Cross the ferry and back across the northern part of Ky. Just for something to do. Southern illinois has some beautiful riding.

I have both tips as well, but I bought the slash end caps.  Right now I'm running with the black RH tips, they just have a tough look.  I will change it up though soon with the slash caps.  Some people like the "weathered" look of the RH, sour grape or baby poopie brown.  I prefer them black though.

Lookin' good, Brian!!  I was getting a tire put on today at 29 Dreams, and the owner was in the shop helping out with things...he complimented my bike, and added "you've got a chit load of money tied up in this bike, don't you?"  All I could do was laugh.  One thing about these CVO's, they draw some attention, no matter where you are.  In April, we've got to get you over to Traxxion... :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:  I'll even ride over with you and keep you company, or meet you for the ride over to B'ham for the races... :2vrolijk_21:

They're a little bit hidden by the massive lowers that the '04s have, but these are the "deluxe" version, which have chrome covers for the downtubes.

Well, one more for now . . . neck cover, downtube cover, mid-frame cover - all in one shot.

Very nice, thanks for the pic. Didn't realize how much the frame downtubes showed till seeing that last pic. Looks like you went with the 8146 kit. I still havent made up my mind if I will go with that kit or the 7859. Thanx again for doing the research Brian.

Man, that looks good.  I love the chrome under the seat as well. Definitely a must here after the wheels come in.  Who makes those, any part #?

By the way, "JR" here has these pieces on his banana and is really to blame for me getting them.  You may want to surf around the site in the Photos section for some pictures of his bike before you buy 'em.  I actually think it they look better on the lighter color bike, but the look is growing on me the more I see it on the darker B/B.

Brian-

I just noticed you need the chrome EFI fitting cover on the LH side bottom of the tank.   :)   Bob

What, you think your name is Gary or somethin'? :nixweiss: :huepfenlol2:

I need that, plus a chrome inner primary and starter.  Also need to install the chrome oil filler neck that I got over a year ago.  So much chrome, so little time and money. ;) ::) :P

Thanks!  Yeah, I didn't think it was too bad.  Taking the lowers off and putting them back on was probably the worst part about it, but the neck cover itself wasn't too big a deal.
