Remove fairing??
« on: February 21, 2006, 07:56:54 AM »

How hard is it to remove the fairing? I need to get that extra 3 inches of antenna cable and know I'll find it under there. Whats involved?

I did a stereo on a 99 FLHTCUI last week end.  There is one tool you have to have.......Milwaukee and Dewalt make them and they're easy to use...........once you get the sawzall blade installed.

Only 7 bolts dude,  I recomend putting painters tape on the shell behind the spot lights to prevent any scratches going on or off.

Good luck........

Yeah, 'er 'uh, CVOwner,
Remove Winshield, Remove four screws on dash side of Fairing, (2 on each side), put thick socks over Driving Lights, pull back, down, and out from Top.  Voila.......It's off with NO scratches or blims!  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] There endeth the lesson.  Later--HUBBARD

Along with bulls, comes "chit". Isn't that why it's called bullchit?
