Post by: WG3 on September 21, 2005, 05:57:23 PM
Committed to buy the FXDWG3 I wrote about in the thread below (What's it worth?)  $16K!  Working out details of when I can pick it up, but it's looking like this Sunday.  Can't wait!!!!   [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

Congrats,  IMHO it's the prettiest bike the MoCo ever made

Nice, you'll like the bike!  After just posting that I would like to get $19k for mine, you bought one for $16k.  Then last weekend I saw one sell in Phoenix for $13k, and it only had 4k miles!  I understand demand for these bikes has been really soft, so I guess their market value is crap and well below book.  At least I do like the bike, so I'll just keep it.  I'll bet my next cycle purchase is not a CVO HD though!

It's in my garage!  Picked it up this morning in Des Moines (about 5 hours from here) and made it back in one piece, no damage, scratches, etc.  The bike is awesome!  I had to adjust the shift linkage - the gap between the peg and the shifter was absurdly large - and the carb needs adjusting (idle too low, running a bit too lean.)  But it is absolutely gorgeous and other than the minor carb adjustment, runs great!!!   [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

Glad your home safe and sound on your new Baby. May you enjoy miles of smiles.
I've just cracked 7,000 since I got mine , and it gets better all the time.  Mine came with a stage I and was well adjusted ( i'm the 3rd owner) . She gets a 95 kit soon , have most of the parts , waiting on the cam.

Going with SBC Scottsman Heads, Andrews TW37-G cams, Mik HSR 42 carb, Dyna TC88-2 ignition , SE cast flat top pistons, baisley spring . Nice mild build with plenty of grunt.
