iPhone 4S Problem Playing on Harley Harman
« on: July 09, 2012, 09:35:38 PM »

When I plug my iPhone 4S into my 2012 Road Glide CVO Harley Harman Kardon radio using the cable that came with the bike in the aux slot, I only get good normal quality sound out of the left speaker.  The right speaker is weak with a slight noticeable hiss with low low sound quality.  You can hardly hear anything coming out of the right speaker.

On the AM/FM,and CD the sound is great on both speakers.

Even thought it came with a iPod nano that is in the right bag, I rather use my I phone directly because I rather choose my music from the iTunes menu directly from the phone which is a lot faster than messing with the radio controls. And I have a lot more memory on the phone.

Help!!!! :nixweiss: :nixweiss:

Must be the cable.  I do the same and mine works great.  Do you have another vehicle you can try it on to make sure it's not the phone?

I did that at first too, but the AUX cable I used had too large of a plastic boss around the 3.5mm plug and only one channel would get a connection.

I took the plug to my belt sander and ground down the plastic plug base so it would plug in all the way. That took care of my problem. I too used iPhone 4S, but I plug it into the interface cable now when I use it instead of my newer 16G mini Nano.

Good luck and let us know what you find as the problem.

Thanks for the suggestions.

So far I used a different aux cable and an iPod and I still have same problem.

I do not have another vehicle at home to try, but I will find one and see what happens.

It was the audio cable.  I'd tried a few different cables until I came to the RocketFish Mini Stereo Audio Cable I got at Best Buy.  It came in 6' length and if you want black you have to go to the phone department because in the computer dept they only have white.

Thanks again for the help.

I use an EDUP bluetooth receiver plugged into the AUX port with my iPhone. No cables needed :)

search "EDEP" on Amazon, 20 bucks
