New Motors
« on: August 05, 2006, 08:02:37 PM »

Now that the new Harleys have a 96 c.i. motor and my 01 fltrsei has a 95 c.i. motor I wonder how they compare in horsepower? I asked at my local dealership this morning and was told the hp rating on the new bikes wasn't out yet. I find that hard to believe. If they have more hp then mine I will have to add some more to mine. :)

The old saying speed cost how fast can you aford to go.  All kidding aside is your bike stock?  [smiley=nixweiss.gif] Pipes a power commander or equivelent and an air cleaner kit and you can wake up a stock bike. [smiley=banana.gif] [smiley=jalapeno.gif]

Yes, the bike is stock. It runs fine. I have always put on a bigger air cleaner and new pipes on all my bikes except this one. I have heard a lot of bad things about the efi system on the 01 models and since I have no problems now I hate to change things.

Ripp,

Go with the JIMs 120, do the heads and put in S&S 640 G Cams, 2:1 V&H Pro Pipe, Kurayakyn 57mm TB or like TB, tune with an HD SERT, I am running the HD 6 Speed. And the bike will be a rocket good manners on the street and goes like stink on the highway.

Had to modify my response I overlooked the MM EFI on the o1 bikes, I assume you could find an approprate tuning set up i.e. PC III

Did that to my 03 Road Glide. 131.HP and 134 TQ.

Hey Hubbard,
What does your buddy Dafixer at Tilley's have to say about the new 96" and 110 " motors as well as the other 07 changes ? The guy really earned my respect with his answers to a couple of my posts awhile back and I would like to know what his take is on the supposed 120 different new part numbers in an 07.

Thanks

Or, you could call OTIS.  Maybe he'll tell you how he gets 115 HP, out of a "Stock", 95" Motor, in a SERG.  Later--HUBBARD

Now Hub!

You know that Road Glide isn't stock.
I have verified that!
He has lights on it from hd-dude.
They gotta be good for a few ponies! [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

But my Classic is.
No lights on mine. :(
Can you take up a collection to help a poor man get some lights on his ride. [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

your 95" should eat that 96" for lunch.

Based on everything I've read and a conversation I had with a Local 81 member this morning, I respectfully disagree. The 96 will leave the 95 gasping for air and wondering why all it sees are red lights

if the 96" is anything like the stock 103, then it needs alot of work to make it scream.
i am willing to bet a stock 96" isn't much faster than a stock 88" especially the pre-05's.
remember the epa wasn't so strict in 2001. the 95" heads are much better then the new hemi style heads.

Chip.....wanted to be the first of the day to mention that you're full of chit with your "stock" and "lowly" 88.  I'm going to buy into that at about the same time you can convince Hub that my 103 is stock since he rode it.  Man, the first BS'er around here ain't got a chance.... ;D
