Just tried to order the ECU from a 2010 FLHXSE (34246-08A) and the -08A suffix is no longer available. New part number is 34246-08B (even for the 2010s). So unless you can find a dealer that has a -08A in stock (I did), they are no longer being produced.

Hopefully RevPerf will crack the -08B/2011 ECUs soon.

Anyway ... just thought I would provide an update.

Unfortunately that had come up before.  The B revision hit the streets a few months back.  Mother Harley apparently doesn't care for its customers having options outside the MoCo coven so everything they can lock down they'll try to.

2011 models have been available 11 months now.
With 12's coming next month RevPerf is getting behind.
Wonder if the EMS for the 2012's  will be out in two weeks like they told me in March?
Or maybe they should revise their ad to show availability for just the 2010 and earlier models?
Probably will in two weeks.

 ;)

Andrew had a bunch of the 08A's in stock when I ordered mine from him. Maybe he still has some?

And still none of these work on the 2011 softail. You can't even go backwards with the ECU for the softail (according to Rev Perf on the phone) The SEPST only has one base map for the softail which is horrible.

Isn't the Softail the model they are testing the CAN wiring on this year and that is the reason why??

Yes.  Softail is an entirely different animal from all other models now.  It'll be awhile before the aftermarket catches up to the CAN bus even though Harley will implement it more and more.

When I talked with them earlier today ... had one unit and it was spoken for.
Just glad my girl found one at another dealership. Should have a -08A tomorrrow.

eBay has been an occasional source.  Just did a search and found four.  Some even reasonably priced.  Used this as a search string:

Harley (ECM, ECU, control module) (08, 08A) -(zippers, thundermax, blundermax)

Why would you pay hundreds of dollars for an 08A when, according to Rev Perf, they will be ready for the 2011 bikes about the time you receive yours?

No offense to Rev Perf, but they have been saying they will be able to program the 2011 ECM's "in 3 weeks" for close to 6 months. They are having some problems with them. Once again, I am NOT saying this to speak badly of  them--I have the EMS on my bike since April and it runs great--but I am also using the 08A ECM. I'm sure once they actually crack the '11 ECM, it will run as well as the older versions.

I am a stickler for being able to return to stock setup, so I would want to save my stock ECM even if they weren't having issues with the 2011 ECU.

I would have ordered a second ECU either way.
