Boom Audio Stage2
« on: August 29, 2019, 01:58:58 PM »

I have an 2019 Ultra Limited CVO. I was handed a bunch of parts after paying a large sum of money saying they would work for this boom 2 audio.

I am curious if anyone has installed  the boom audio stage 2 setup on their ultra limited.  It seems from my wire harness that maybe the speakers are all wired into 1 big harness and are not split out front / back for me to tap into with the 4 prong plugs.

We put the front and rear speakers in and ran all the wires and where the plugs were supposed to go (pink and blue wires) there is no connection for them under the fairing.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am taking the boom 2 setup out. I have a feeling it was not made for the CVO.  It looks to me like all the wires for front/rear are all wired into the one harness and do not have the connectors to come out for use on the boom 2 for the tweeters.

I added it to my '15 serg. Sounds like you're missing an adapter or another harness. I'm not familiar with the limited as mine is a road glide.

zenom,
This is very common with HD; they sell you a bunch of parts w/o saying you also need x, y, and z to complete the system installation.  OTOH, they will happily say you do need other parts...which really aren't needed.

Oh, and don't forget about the numerous items that say "won't fit CVOs," when they actually do fit.

There sure are a lot of ways that HD doesn't have its chit together!   :o

Ok, here is the best advice. Do not install Boom2 system. If you are disappointed that you can't get it to work you will be twice as disappointed when you do finally get it to work. But if you insist on trying, Boom parts are everywhere  available for little or nothing. I even saw where an audio installer had a box full of speakers and amps that he was giving away for the cost of postage.

Sounds like you may be missing one or more of the following:

Interconnect Harness – ’18-later 69201930
Jumper Harness 69200489
Installation Kit – ’17-later 76000745

This is based upon the informational sheet provided by Serdvd6.

However, as others have stated, why go boom 2? Being a CVO RG owner and living with the "Boom 2" I can tell you it isn't all its cracked up to be. 1 front speaker and two rears in a year and a half its time for a change.

Lots of research here.. see what others say about different products.

The boom 2 on my 2016 CVO Street Glide was fine, never had a problem with speakers or amps, I just purchased a 2019 CVO limited and the boom 1 definitely is not as good as the 2, I will be upgrading but could be boom 2 or I have been looking into SoundZ, stay tuned!

Maybe because I like to ride with mine near 80% or above all the time... speakers dont last with me.

But I do expect my equipment to take a beating...  40% hearing loss in my right ear and 25% loss in the left... at least that way I can hear it!

I used J&M Rokker components for my '01 Screaming Eagle Road Glide. Pretty happy with the results so far.

Check with me in a year and I'll let you know if I still feel the same way!
