I thought some of you guys with the better setups would post, but didn't see anything.
Linda and I rode down about 40 miles from our home yesterday to get on the meridian line of most totality of the eclipse. Where we stopped we got about 2 min 38 sec, only about 5 seconds short of the max.
This is of the start of the eclipse about half covered.
This is about total coverage.
And here's the full on eclipse.
And here it's getting back to a normal sun, about half uncovered.
I was a little disappointed in the amount of total darkness, or lack there of during the full coverage. I was expecting a basement without a light on and I got darkness, but you could still see colors.
But it was a GREAT thing to witness in person.
I took these pictures with my little Panasonic Lumix bridge camera. I believe I was pushing the boundaries of the camera's capabilities though. I used a cardboard folded 49mm to 69mm slide over solar lens filter, thanks John for the tip in getting my solar lens filter. I took video, but it's so slow in moving that it's almost worthless to watch.
