Had a set on the '11 I traded in. Not going that route again. Great sound and power, just too loud for my ears on anything more than 30 minutes riding.

Rode it to the dealer to drop it off to get the iPod cable replaced under the ESP (and whatever else they can find that will be covered) and don't plan on bringing it back home. New one is on the truck :2vrolijk_21: Dealer is picking up the deductible for the repair.
Well, on the old bike, dealer investigated a noise I told them about. One of the lifters was scored pretty good along with the cam, and the cam chain tensioner was starting to lose small chunks of plastic. Glad for the ESP. I will be buying it for the new bike as well. Oh, that cord for the iPod,,, $140  :'(
I didn't have to pay anything but the service manager said the cam job alone would have been roughly $1200 for a cash paying customer.

Sounds like the typical failed Harley Lifter.  Petty common on bikes that have miles on them.  My 09 SERG had a lifter fail with 44K on the bike.  Failed on the show room floor right after I traded the bike on my 12 SERG.

yup. As far as I know, the only thing that had been done to that bike enginewise was the D&D exhaust and the tuner. The old cams were stamped CVO 255

Yeah, woulda sucked to be halfway to anywhere and have it come apart. Good for the dealer. Makes for a better selling point that the cams and lifters where just refreshed. Not too mention the money they made on the repair. Service manager ( I've seen articles of him when he used to build engines in Fla) said they were probably good for another 10-15k miles. Hell with that. change them before they're totally gone.
