New voltage regulator.   Funny ,. My 04 had 80k on it,,     Sold it with the original one on the bike and never once had a charging issue other than an old run down battery.   I'm on #3 on my sesg3.  They don't make these parts like they used to.  :nixweiss:

Here is the measurement.
Perfect. Thanks Joe. That looks to be 1 1/4" shorter than stock. My stock shield measures 7" at that same point.

Rode about 140 miles yesterday.  Noticed two thing, one after the 5K service I now have the handle bar slap when coasting down thru 40 mph.  Also when I pulled into the drive I noticed coolant dripping down the inside of the right lower.  So I will be riding to the dealership this AM, have a service appointment at 10:00

Oh, I also put the Klock Werks Sport Flare Dark tint on, sure improves the look.

We, and the dealer, several mechanics learned something yesterday.  14 and newer bikes have a different way to adjust the neck bearing.  If you on pin and move the bars forward, you get the handle bar slap when coasting down from 50 through to 30, slap is real bad right around 40.  Tried several times to adjust it per procedure and it would not be correct.  Move the bars to correct location and adjusted, then move the bars back to where I had them.  Seems much better and almost totally gone now.

Wonder if this is why the non CVO 15 road glides all have the weights on their clutch and brake clamps at handle bars, as our CVO RG bars are longer with more pull back?

Why the can't Harley just have a torque spec?  That has to be how they built them, as they do not have time to do these tests on each and every touring bike.

So I ended up with four hours at service, no real ride.

Today we plan to ride...

Dave, did you speak to the tech about taller bars and if those will have an effect?

i have been thru this on both my RGs (more than once!) and now i have neck bearings over tightened (per the swing test procedure) and it will still  shake when it feels like it, i have noticed that is more likely to shake if tire PSI gose under 40, so keep an eye on that. its kinda like the compensator mystery, some things you just have to learn to live with

Is this a RG issue? I haven't experienced it on my CVORK, but I also haven't had anything serviced yet.

Installed Sancho's wings and a stabilizer made by AlloyArt. Wings were an easy install but I had problems with the stabilizer - they use the same connection point as my mid-frame heat deflectors. This turned out to be a real pain. I removed the heat deflector while I think about a work around.
