Finally got a chance to ride with my new C&C Fastback on the bike. Only about 45 minutes (it's been another rough winter). The stock saddle isn't bad, but I always felt too far forward on the bike. This is a nice improvement. Not once did I try to move back.

Hey JD how do the 2" sound? Thats what I am looking to do,the Ohlins as well , 8)
Got them both installed but haven't ridden yet. I installed the 1.75" full sac cores first, started the bike and decided to switch to the 2" for first test. Will let you know once I ride some. Weather is warming up!

Ain't never seen a tongue wrench before. Do you have to lick the bolt in a clockwise motion to tighten it up?  :P

It's actually a style of pipe wrench. I'm sure many of us have seen them but just never realized they had that name. I always just called it a chain wrench.

Hey JD how do the 2" sound? Thats what I am looking to do,the Ohlins as well , 8)

IMHO, Fullsac 2" sound really good.  However, I opted to wrap the baffles with all of the stock batting after doing a ride with just 1/2 of the stock batting. There was just too much sound travelling through the wall of the slip-on.   Installation blog entry: Part I of II  and Part II of II.  Part II also has a link to  a short video / audio clip of the pipes , but you have to wear ear buds or headphones with your hands cupped over the ears to get an accurate sound reproduction on most computers that don't have really good speakers.

Ohlins, another great call. I've tried Progressive and BiTubos on my Harley's and the Ohlins are just far and away the best I've ever tried.  I went through a  lot of different shocks on my sport bikes and ended up with Ohlins.  Turns out, they're just better on just about any bike.   I've got the 3-3's, which started out on my '11 Wide Glide.  Howard Messner worked with me at last year's Bike Week to get the preload and dampening adjusted for the Road King.

I am flying in from offshore to Galveston tomorrow. Then tomorrow afternoon after the rain stops I am headed to Fort Worth, TX on the bike so I can be at GMR performance Thursday morning. I sure hope the snow and ice melts tomorrow afternoon :o

That darn automatic word speller thingy gets me in these predicaments.

Well I made it to my sister's house last night. Then I rode the bike from her house to GMR Performance this morning. A few minutes after getting to Steve's shop it started snowing outside. Whew that was close.
