Got it all cleaned up after the West Virginia GTG.   Noticed the rear brakes where not what they need to be in the  mountains pulling a trailer. Left my RH saddlebag off so I can replace the pads tomorrow after a trip to the dealer.

Removed all lights and other items from my tomato red Bushtec and took back to painter.  I will get paint mixed tomorrow since his color matching skills are weak at best. If it turns out bad this time I'll paint it flat black lol.

Decided to change the bolts to knobs that I use to hold my saddlebags on with. Sure make it nice. On for the security of falling off not to guard against theifs.

Chains,
By chance are those 5 1/6-18 thread? If so where did you purchase them? I couldn't find a set locally I tried Lowes and Home Depot. I did find them on Amazon but the shipping for four was almost the same price for the four so I used bolts instead.

Found some 5/16 locally at Lowes with the u-nuts but the knob thread is 1.75" long.  It fits but may take a little length off of it eventually.  Have not checked Ace Hardware, they usually have a better selection of chrome and SS than the big box stores.

Yes 5/16-18. Bought them at my local Lowes. Had to hacksaw 1/2 inch off as they come 1 3/4 long.

You wouldn't happen to have the Lowe's receipt handy with the item number, would you?

Took a ride through Chicago traffic and 87F. At least I was not cold.

MrSurly, Have both the u-nut and knob at home still in packaging so can get it to you this evening.

That would be great! Easy to check the local inventory and to make certain I get the right pieces.

U-nut part # 74282, $1.07 ea
Knob 5/16-18 x 1.75" part # 423473, $3.49 ea
http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay?partNumber=423473-37672-884516&langId=-1&storeId=10151&productId=3903340&catalogId=10051&cmRelshp=req&rel=nofollow&cId=PDIO1

Looks like they also carry a slightly shorter U-nut.  If your military, retired military or military civilian our Lowes gives a 10% discount at register with military ID.

Attached new tour pack that Joe Z painted for us. Shop gave me a sweet deal on labor to add the wiring harness so I left the work to them.

Rode to Port Albernie for the first annual Tsunami rally.....about a hundred bikes and a few booths...it'll grow!
'Cause I've been doing so much yard work...and can only wash cars/bikes on Thursdays and Sundays...mine has been a little neglected and has more than a few bugs on it......so...I won the dirtiest bike prize...
