We did a nice 284 mile lunch ride yesterday, 7 bikes, 3 CVO's.  It was 23 when we started and the high was 49.  Great ride though the East TN and North GA hills and curves.

Added a little Focal upgrade

Hey Cecil, is that all you did?  Did you replace the faring as well as the tour pac speakers with Focal?  How much of an improvement vs. the stock stage II Boom?  I'm guessing much better.

Warranty runs out end of July this year and I plan to start doing some different things...speakers were on that list.

That is a very good milestone!  Congratulations.  42 more payments and Beauregard is mine, too (or sooner if I hit the Lottery)..... :huepfenlol2: :drink: ;D :2vrolijk_21:

I found that at highway speeds I could not here it very well with stock speakers.  Base tends to get blown away with speed.  The focals have a bit more highs that made it much better at speed.

Only mod I made was to the boxes.  Had to cut out just a bit for the magnet.

I left the rears boom speakers for now. Good base in rear and better tweets up front.

A big improvement going down the road.

I have focals and arc audio amp on my 11 RG.  it will push a lot more volume and is very very clear.  May go that route someday on this one but for now this made the difference I was looking for and it's pretty impressive

Mod the boxes.  You didn't happen to take any pictures, did you?

Glad it was a big improvement and you are happy with the change.

Since buying mine last month (it was an auction bike ?repo?), I have reordered the TourPak (still waiting on parts to arrive), installed the chrome boot/exhaust protector, and installed the garage door receive in the overhead of the garage and programmed it with the hi/lo beams...Snow and ice preventing much more than that.

No I sure didn't.  I thought last night I should have and posted it.  I can tell you I cut a slot just above the foam pad about an 1" x 2.5".  Then covered it with gorilla tape.   The magnets don't protrude much.

Made a dinner run with the wife and tested out a new .gpx file on the BoomBox.  This route was devised using the myrouteapp (formerly Tyre) free on-line mapping program.
I was beginning to thing that getting the BB to regurgitate a map verbatim just like we wrote it (using whichever software we used), would never come to pass.

But now I think I may have actually figured out a key secret to forcing the BB to behave and give us back the route we originally created.
And let's face it...since HD is useless in helping us, we're going to have to figure this out for ourselves.
I want to do more research and be more confident I've found a solution, but I will share the results when I feel better about my findings.

Mike,
Had a few beers, so I'm denser than normal...but I didn't follow your statement.  Help an old fart out, would you?

Put new tags on the 2003 Fatboy, 13 CVO King and 17 CVO Street Glide.  This is the only time I do not like the Yaffe Stealth III plate frame as you must remove it from the bike, take it a part, put decal on, the reassemble and install.  Its a pain.
