They were very expensive. . Couldn't believe it but I wanted those.  And heated.  The kit that is listed in the parts catalog won't work. . .  So this is the way. If you want these. Stuart

Just wondering why you wouldn't go with http://heatdemon.com/products/motorcycle-grip-heater-kit-for-harley-with-four-level-controller
and then use any style grip you wish?

 :nixweiss:

I installed them on my wife's Ultra and they work way better than my stock CVO grips... Their controller is easier to operate and they heat up faster and stay warmer.

Once I'm out of warranty next year, if mine break for a 4th time, I'll be going with Heat Demons for sure.

Oh yeah, Heat Demons are less expensive as well!  :2vrolijk_21:

No reason really. I just wanted harley stuff.  I live in FL. . Hardly ever use them too.  Just one of those things. . . Stuart

Installed the 117 engine tags and derby cover.

Just the tags and derby or did you get the kit upgrade installed?
If you have 117 what is your experience so far?

I didn't go with the kit. I purchased just the cylinders. I used the CP 11.4 compression pistons, heads by HD Street Performance, HPI 55mm throttle body, 5.3 injectors, Woods TW9B-6 cams, Jackpot 2-1-2 headpipe and 4" Rinehart mufflers.

It's been running great. I have about 9,000 miles on the 117 now with no problems. Great power and torque.

What did you do to or on your CVO today?
« Reply #4089 on: March 06, 2017, 10:11:27 AM »

I spent a rainy, lazy Sunday replacing an annoyingly sketchy power socket. The power outlet in the Tourpak has (for years) been stupid unreliable. I don't use it often and when I do, I'm reminded that whatever you plug into it will randomly have or not have power. I would plug in my phone to charge while I rode and it would be charging when I started and charging when I stopped, but it didn't charge while riding(!). Wiggle the plug and it would blink. One of those annoying things that was never important enough to chase. Well, I finally got around to it. Took it apart to learn the cause, (surprised by shoddy build) replaced it with a better unit, included USB ports, LED indicator and wired it 'hot' all the time.
This is the factory installed power outlet in the Tourpak and it is a really crap design. After seeing it apart, I would strongly advise AGAINST just replacing with a new one of the same (Harley) source. I'm actually surprised that these aren't causing fires. Anyway, found a better-built piece at WalMart which included USBs. I made a little bracket and it worked out pretty slick. While in there, I installed the Anderson Tourpak bracket. It passed the rainy day perfectly.

Looks great Joe! I ordered the derby and timer covers from them this weekend. I debated between what you bought and the one that's the reverse of yours. I ended up ordering this style. Hopefully it'll look as good as yours does.
