Headed up to Canada on my 3015 Streetglide CVO..

Dammit.  Now I've got Zager and Evans stuck in my head.....




I worked on the old FXR2 today.  Got up early.  It was raining so said screw it and went back to bed.  Got up again later, went to brunch, then changed the handlebars on the bike.

As it came to me it had a drag bar on it.  Even with the tall-ish and angled risers it made my shoulders and back uncomfortable.  Went with a Wild1 255 bar.  Gained some height and some pullback.  It's much better now.  Barnett's Plantinum braided cables, new braided brake line, replaced the old and flaking switch housings and replaced the original black master cylinder and clutch perch with new chrome stuff.  Also put on a set of braided spoons.  I know, the braided levers with tassels screams 1970s but it's a look I've always liked.

Added highway pegs, back rest, and looked at the shifter levers for comfort.

I finally did my long awaited fairing lowers and engine guard conversion.  I used the Vivid Black kit which I bought from Reggie at Hoarnytoad Harley as they had the best discount this time. The airflow control is night and day. I'm so glad to have my lowers back and the redesigned Rushmore lowers definitely seem to work better than the previous design that were on my 2011 SESG. I'm waiting on my new highway peg mounts as the billet Harley style that I used previously have a clearance issue.

And Harley still says it can't be done! Thanks everyone here for helping to prove them wrong....again.

What pegs are you using on the highway mounts? Can you get ones the same as the passenger pegs?

I am using my passenger pegs which I replaced with matching passenger floorboards. I believe that you CAN order another set of pass. pegs from Harley but your VIN # will be required for proof of ownership since they are exclusive to a CVO.

Do today?  It was a good day  .


Left the house this morning on the Road Glide.  It was full of fuel.  Had breakfast while out.  Got home the bike is out of fuel and killed several bugs.  Bike was happy.

Left the house again mid afternoon.  This time the Road King.  It was full of fuel.  Had dinner while out.  Got home and the bike is out of fuel and has a lot of bugs.  Bike was happy.

Will clean them tomorrow.

Couldn't ride the FXR.  It's up on the lift.  Waiting on a couple of small bits to finish the floorboards install.

Had the 20,000 mile service done on my 2018 CVO Street Glide before I head to British Columbia and Alberta in a few weeks.

The feel is going to be much better Dick.  With the forward controls my right knee was against and leg was wrapped around the air cleaner.  Was also stretched out so far didn't get much bend in the knees.  Would never have been good for more than a two tank day.  Only question in the first impressions now is wish either the boards were a little lower (can't happen, no adustability) or the seat were a little higher.  It's not a huge thing though.  Everything else is much much better. 

With the change in the handlebars and getting the windshield on it the old bike is much closer to an all day bike now if one were so inclined.  Am pleased with the result.  Will get a picture or three up right away.

Was out back road country up hill riding today 

Motor still in test mode got a bit of  sorting out to do nothing major some exhaust popping on decel, well i say some it's more then I'm liking .
    I stopped over at my mates place and did a bit more work on the mini project

I called George at CVO Backrest to see if he had changed his design as mine had a good amount of flex to it (purchased approximately a year ago for a 16 CVO Street Glide). He said he had and before I could offer to pay, he said I’ll ship one out to you tomorrow morning at no charge. WOW! I installed on my 18 CVO Road Glide and there is “NO” flex! Outstanding backrest and wanted to give a shoutout to George! If you’re in the market for a backrest, give it a look you won’t be disappointed.
