How many miles did you get on that rear tire Dave?

The factory rear I got 12,500 miles out of.  It was howling in the curves bad by 6K miles, and you could see the cupping.  This is the second rear, and it is an American Elite.  I got 13K out of it, it is bald from chicken strip to chicken strip which are very small chicken strips.  This tire never ever howled in the curves and I never saw cupping.  Last 2K miles on this tire were after I built the motor.

I thought I would get a little longer wear out of the American Elite.  Was told I need to run 42 in the rear, so I will try that this time, as I ran 40 in the rear this time.

Raining today so no riding today.  Dang.

Dave, it’s good to hear you never had the cupping problem with the American Elite, I will try that next time. I have had the same cupping problem on my 13, 16, and now my 19 CVO Ultras. I have found out over the years and miles that if I run 40lbs. in the front and 50lbs in the rear cold pressure they cup a whole lot less. Before everyone jumps my butt about over inflated rear tire I’m not telling anyone to do that it just works for me. On my 13 I only got around 13,000 miles on the rear tire, since then I have had a BSR almost all of the time and now am getting around 23,000 miles on a rear tire. I guess the extra 110lbs keeps the tire contact to the road so less skipping at speed. I did talk to a Dunlop rep at Daytona and he said Harley’s trad design is different then the Elite and maybe that is why the cup.

Yeah, they look similar to Yaffee Monkey Bars but possibly 1 1/2" diameter, can't tell if they're a 12 or 14" height.

Great looking setup though, can you share some info?

Added switch pack for passing lamps, fairly easy job as the wiring harness already behind the panel.

beside the switch pack. I installed the passing lamps which the CVO Street Glide does not have and they worked hurrah.

Also installed detachable hardware for a chopped tour pak and mounted the painted Atomic Red tour Pak, great paint match by a local painter.

Also Wild One Chubby WO578 10' Bars plus Heat Demon heated grips.

Revo rear 13" SHOCKS and a friend of mine installed the Revo Legend front shocks. To much snow for a test ride.

Tried adding pics, however files to big will resize.
