plug it... i did. tire had 2k on it when i found the nail ... has about 11k on it now and ready for replacement. looks like a Dunlop AE same as mine. did have a comander 2 a few years ago that picked up a 3/8 bolt, that one went into the trash can.     i used a regular ol rope plug, from  a kit i picked up at napa

Sunday afternoon got back from a 3597 mile 10 day trip to SD.  Badlands and Black Hills were fantastic.  Temperatures other than on the way out were in high 70's and low 80's.  Just over 61K miles on the 19 CVO now.

Dave: not quite at 60 k on my 2019 yet but got about 35k on the big motor now.
Still amazed at the quiet power and 42-45 mpg at “normal to fast” riding 2up.
Baker grudge box working out fine.
Had to “beef up” my compensator a bit, last part in the drive train that needed some attention!

We have some long rides coming up next few months along CA, NV, OR, WA so 60k miles will be there!

Just finished up my 50 k service, new rear tire (17500 on the old one), new plugs (NGK still looked ok at 40k on the old ones) and other service as listed in the manual.
Ride on!

Since all it does here in SC is rain these days I considered installing a rudder on my CVO but instead I installed Dominator 10" Meat Hook bars, Rekluse clutch slave cylinder, Fuel Moto 2-1-2 Jackpot headers and Motorola MA1 for wireless android auto.

Take the tire off, put a Quality patch on and ride away. I have done it and would do it again. I also bought a tire off a buddy who had replaced it due to a finishing nail. I got 16,000 out of that one after patching without ever a problem.

I'm just under 40K on the 130" motor.  The motor needs a complete rebuild.

A lifter roller seized, made no noise that I heard so the roller and cam lobe wore together for awhile.  Then a piece of the roller broke of, and the needles went though the motor as did the pipes of the roller.  Believe me I heard that when it broke.

Well that just sucks!
Sounds like a complete teardown and major cleanup!

I had planned to look in the cam chest later this year just to check the condition of the cam and rollers.
I stayed with a mild cam, tts200, S&S lifters, thinking it would be easy on the valve train.
Did have to upgrade the valve springs though.

I have a set of fueling lifters that they gave me as a replacement for some I used that tested marginal.
Good customer service on that!

What are your plans? Repairs  or replacement?

I stayed under 500 lift to be easy on valve train, 482 lift.  Yes it does suck.  Motor will be completely disassembled, cleaned and all bearing replaced and anything else that needs replacement.  Crank will be inspected and trued.  really the only option.

That's a big reason I decided not to touch my mako. Bone stock as for the motor and I don't even care.  Really sorry to hear dave.   What else can I say    I hope it gets fixed soon.  Stuart.
