Aussie Limited.
« on: November 27, 2013, 12:09:00 AM »

I spoke to my local dealer about a month ago about ordering a red Limited. He told me they were sold out in Australia so I was resigned to the fact that I would waiting until the 2015 models come out. I got a call yesterday to tell me that the dealer had pulled a few strings and I could have a late build bike that would arrive down under in May. I can't wait. This will be my second CVO with my first being an 09 Ultra. I wanted a red one then but only silver was available.

Same story for me when I was looking for a SG in 2011, do your own shopping around and call other dealers and you will possibly find what you are looking for.

FWIW I found 4 bikes within a few hours from making my own enquiries calling other dealers and to top it of there were 2 on the water making that 6 available when I was told I would not get one  :nixweiss:

I don't mind the wait too much. It gives me time to sell my current bike and save a few bucks so I don't have to sell my second bike which is a 77 XLCR. I want to hang on to that old beast because it is an awesome bike to ride as well as being pretty rare especially down under.

The wait will be worth your while and I bet you look at every post and picture of the Limited along the way.

Here's a little story for you,
When my 2011 SG turned up (Melbourne) there was a big surprise.
Wrong colour turned up at dealer, and after the 2 Month wait for the boat to turn up with my bike I decided to get the 2012.
Strange enough I found the colour I ordered in Trivetts HD (Sydney) on my travels a few weeks later. I was just about to purchase the bike on the spot but decided to wait for the 2012.

So the wait was on again, 6 months later I was riding my 2012 CVO SG.
The wait was no bit issue for me either even though it ended up being 8 months from the time I decided on the SG.

.... have a red one coming into Brisbane, supposed to be on the Melbourne dock next week.

Morgan and Wacker told me they were only getting 2, both red. Just as well I was leaning that way. Was going to buy the Electra Glide Limited, but the pillion in a million talked me into spending the extra dough on the CVO.

Dealers in the UK are only getting one.

How are M&W faring these days now that Gasoline Alley have their place in Brissie now?   I heard that M&W had been sold, so I wasn't sure if that was good or bad.

It would interesting to know how many CVO's are coming to Australia. My local dealer (they are 160 kilometres away but closest to me) is getting a total of 6 of all variants. I imagine the numbers would be very low.

M&W seem to be doing ok.

You are right, have been bought out by a conglomerate who have pretty much a stranglehold on the motorcycle industry in SE Queensland. I was originally going to purchase off Gasoline Alley and was tyre kicking around the 2013 CVO, but eventually went with M&W because of the convenient location and I know them pretty well having bought various BMWs from them over the years. Most of the staff are still there and they manage the customer relationship pretty well, whereas Gasoline Alley wouldn't take a deposit about 6 months ago when I wanted to secure a 2014 bike, they tried to push me onto the brown coloured 2013 they had in stock which my wife didn't like so was never going to happen.
