Dealer Shop Rates
« on: October 10, 2005, 10:29:58 PM »

Local Harley Davidson authorized dealers/shops in the Columbus, Ohio market are now up to $75 - $80 per hour.  [smiley=furious.gif]

However while in Dubois, Pa this past weekend I noticed the local dealer was charging $46 per hour.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

So what is fair and reasonable these days? This poll may become a useful tool as we shop around for our future needs if member's post their current local rates by dealer.

All Dealers here in the SF Bay area are $95 to $110 per hour [smiley=furious.gif]. That's a great incentive to get the manuals and learn how to wrench! [smiley=cherry.gif]

Our dealer is $90...about average for all the dealers in the area. I thought it was high until I brought my rototiller to the shop. The guys that work on lawnmowers and tillers get $115 an hour [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

I stopped in at my HD Dealer yesturday,, to order some items I want installed on my bike when it gets here,,, and I asked what there rates were.  They charge $45 and hour,, so it looks like that is  about the cheapest hourly rate I have seen on here.  They also only charge MSRP for there bikes,,, and there is no set-up fee tacked on.  They took me into the back warehouse,, and there is a brand new AUTUMN HAZE and BLACK ,, not even spoken for!!!  They said they had a guy who was thinking about it,,  but they didnt think he would take it.  It was a NICE looking bike,, so now I really cant wait till my  Crimson & Charcoal gets here!!!!  They are a small family owned business  and the owner rides a 2005 SE!!  Very Nice People !!!!

My local dealer (Shenandoah Harley-Davidson, 213 Rolling Thunder Road, Staunton Va.) as of July 29, 2005 (last time I had them do any work on bike) rates were $57.50/hour. From what I'm seeing here isn't the best, but far from the worst. On top of that they are fair, trustworthy and committed to getting the job done to customers satisfaction. I've said it before and still highly recommend them, if you want a good dealership go check them out. Tell them "Gary" the Fireman w/the "Pumpkin" sent you.

Jim's over in Mendon.   I called and talked to Norm last night,,, and he said a guy had just signed the papers to buy the SE.  I had him order another piece of chrome in for me.  I see your about 120 miles from there. If you ever go over that way,,, dont blink because you will be thru the town,, once you stop at the only stop sign!!

Yes,,, Jim's  still have the 1 SE V-rod on the floor!!!  He still has a FATBOY SE 2005  on the floor too,  for $26,500!  I dont know how the guys on here ride one of those very far,,,  maybe it is because I am OLD or something,, but I sat on it,, and I know if I rode tha Fatboy 100 miules,,,  I would NOT be able to walk when I got off of it.  It has to be a Touring bike for me!!!!   I sat on the Blue and  Yeller  06 SE Fatboy too,,, and that seat didnt seem like it had anymore padding then the 05 !!   I  will go get the website,,, he has a list of bikes they have.
