extension converter cord
« on: July 03, 2020, 01:16:08 PM »

I have a new CVO and where you plug in to keep your battery charged they have added a place to charge other items, the problem is its like a cell phone input and my heated jacket has a round plug in bit. I asked if they had a converter cord but they didn't. I was wondering if anyone knew of a place. Hopefully I explained it OK
Thanks

What bike are you talking about?  If it's the 2020 FLHTKSE, the bike has two old tech power ports, one in the fairing and one in the Tour Pak.  Those ports take the automotive round cigar lighter style connector, including those for heated riding gear.  There is another separate USB connection for powering or charging modern devices like phones.  None of those are where you connect a battery tender.  Do you have a photo of the connection you're asking about?

,Jerry, its a CVO limited 2020, I know about the cigarette lighter power points, this is new I never seen it before, its down on the battery tender that you plug into in the winter to keep your bike charged, there is an extra input there on the same plug and its to charge things, but as I said its like a cell phone input not oval that I need for my jacket. I could have a tender run off the battery like I had on my 2017 but I thought maybe there is an extension. Thanks for you input

Now I'm curious (and I'm almost never curious about the new bikes).  Picture please?

I believe you are referring to the 3 pin wiring harness. I think the 3 pin connection is common in some other countries. Its made for a 5 AMP global battery charger. My guess HD just decide to go with 1 harness on all bikes. I think the 3 pin was on my 2017 and is on my 2020.

See its the bottom inlet they said is the plug in part for you jacket , seeing your extension , I might get that, I didn't know that you could use the battery charger part  for your jacket ( dumb)
