My 21" wheel came in Friday afternoon. :orange:
-
From my best guess the 21" added about an inch of height to the front end. I will have to install a kickstand wedge as it leans a little more than I like. When I get around to working on the front end and changing it to a cartridge style I'll install a lowering kit. :2vrolijk_21:

It looks pretty good.

I like and I see you went with both rotors. Good choice. I was going to do just one but I like to stop. Later,Q

I'm kicking around the 360 brake and no rotors!
Isn't this thing cool looking. :2vrolijk_21:

Sure makes you go Hmmm.
I have no clue how well they work however they are starting to show up on every day bikes which is cool.

Puzzled,
that looks magnificient ! I assumed you had to adjust the front fender somewhat (?). The general manager of our local dealer burned up his street glide fender from the 21" tire when it expanded while riding. How does the bike handle with the 21 up front? Did you do 18 on the rear?
Very COOL

I went two drill bit sizes larger on the two rear holes of the fender. I did this as just like you mentioned I too have heard about tire growth and rubbing. So this is what was done when we did the 00 E Glide wide tire bike. So I just followed suit on my bike. After the holes were slightly enlarged I rotated the fender up/forward as the closest part of the tire is in the rear. On that note Metzelers aren't suppose to grow at speed! Here is what I posted on another board when asked about the 21"
"There is 5mm difference in width from a 130x18 to a 120x21 and 24mm from a 130x16 to a 120x21 in a ME880. Dunlops may vary. A 130x18 measures 25.92 and a 120x21 measures 27.81. The 21 will have your bike sitting 1" taller in the front thus most are running 1" lowering kits to level the bike. I only know this chit as I was concerned about loosing the contact patch of the 18 going to the 21. At 5mm difference, who cares! Plus the 21 is easier to clean as I can get my hand in there."
I had done the 18" rear about a year and a half ago. I just changed from a 140 to a 150 Metzeler. Not a huge change but a visually noticeable one. :2vrolijk_21:

I don't know if I have.
On that note I'm becoming the anti chrome guy. Black powdercoat the entire bike! Alloy Arts bike in this months AB is sweet with the dulled silver and black parts. :2vrolijk_21:

A satin black frame would be way too cool for school dude. I didn't think of that till I read your post.

The secret to a Silver bike is to get all the different textures right on. Exile has a good handle on this.

Looks great. But how well does it work? Fading? Head dissipation? Panic stopping distances? Life span and serviceability. Looks great! But is it functional and a pain in the arse or not?

Did you missed the link? http://baldwin-wilson.com/360.html
There are 277 hits on Google for "360 brake" (http://www.google.com/search?as_q=&hl=en&num=100&btnG=Google+Search&as_epq=360+brake&as_oq=&as_eq=&lr=lang_en&as_ft=i&as_filetype=&as_qdr=all&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&as_occt=any&as_dt=i&as_sitesearch=&as_rights=&safe=images) (I narrowed it down from 1,360,000 with quotes)
I found this tidbit Your wheel hub must be removable, therefore no spoke or stock Harley Wheels
One of these days I'll stop in and see if I can get a little tour of the facility. I think they started up around Jan 06.
-
Bottom line is it appears like they perform as good as they look.
-
I saw that chart, I think it's a repeated stop test from the looks of it. I guess they dissipate heat OK.

Too bad they didn't the repititve stop comparison against a model with dual front brakes.

A fellow over on CW installed one so I'm awaiting his real world review. :orange:

I made my way out to the garage this afternnon and decided to install my Progressive Suspension front lowering kit. While it is not hard, it is a little time consuming. I think I had every tool I own out of the tool box. ;) My picture taking lacked as I got so involved with setting this front end up I forgot to snap some pics as I was going along.
With the Road Glide the speedometer, tach, ignition switch, and tripple tree covers had to come off. The rest was standard dropping of the front end stuff.
-
The entire front end off as a complete assembly. It had to come apart in order to install the lowering springs.
-
Everything all out.
-
Another.
-
Lowered and pumped up in the rear.
-
Lowered and dumped.

Need to loose the seat!
