Adjustable Fairing Mount For Road Glides
« on: July 26, 2013, 04:23:29 PM »

I'll bet some Sharks are going to jump on this one.  Especially the very tall or not so tall riders.   :2vrolijk_21:

From Cyrl Huse Post:  Adjustable Fairing Mount For Harley-Davidson Road Glide

Love it or hate it, the Harley-Davidson Road Glide frame-mounted “shark nose” fairing gives the bike its very unique identity while improving its handling properties.

So, custom builders and FLTR riders play with it, adjust it to suit their needs. Tall wheel conversion? Stretched tank? Venting clearance? Etc. Forward? Up? Changing angle? All tasks requiring cutting and re-welding of the Harley factory mount. No more with a new adjustable fairing mount offered by Hell’s Foundry.

It let you quickly and easily get your fairing positioned exactly where you want and mockup different options to choose from. Forward adjustment of up to 2″, Vertical adjustment of up to 4.5″, fairing angle of + or – 28 degrees (total of 56 degrees) Available in Harley frame matching black powder coat or raw steel to fit 1998 and newer Road Glides (you can also adapt this fairing mount to other custom frame style) $199.95 complete, including mounting hardware. Patent Pending.  More info at Hell’s Foundry or call on my behalf 866-999-HELL (4355)

Appears to require removal of inner fairing which is a job.  Thoughts?

It looks likes the mounting bracket has enough adjustments for the bottom brackets to swivel on the crash bar. The problem I see is whatever position you mount the fairing the turn signals will be pointed in the same direction.

I'd like to see one of these. I've always thought my fairing could stand to be mounted 3-4 inches higher. Does it just let you change the angle or raise and lower it as well?

Both.  Look at the long slots in the mounting plate.

This is from their ad:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Forward adjustment of up to 2 inches
Vertical adjustment of up to 4.5 inches
Fairing angle of + or - 28 degrees (total of 56 degrees!)
-----------------------------------------------------------------

I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would want to change the angle of the fairing by +/-28°  :confused5:  I hope these folks had a fully qualified engineer vet this thing, as well as a good liability attorney.  I imagine these adjustments just might have a bit of an affect on things like handling, especially an angle change of 28°.

Looks like this bike with 30 something inches of front wheel could use most of that 28* ..... if the adapter would fit on that bike   :nervous:

He appears to be scanning for ufo's where that light is pointing now!!!

Personally, after Harley tilted the fairing in 2010(I think) it looks to me like the fairing headlight is pointed down. It could due for a face lift. IMO

In regards to the fairing supports --------------Hells foundry makes a mount that eliminates them altogether . I bet thats what these adjustable brackets do .
