Just finished putting 1000 miles on my 110 Anniversary CVO Road King #667.  Lots of posts trashing the mailbox windshield.  I disagree.  Prior to this CVO, I had a stock RK with a 22" shield.  The mailbox works great with no adjusting up to 50 mph.  It has to be adjusted every 5 mph after 50 mph, but once it is adjusted it works well as these speeds.  At highway speeds 65+ mph will have some buffeting, but it is manageable after some fine tuning.  Going to Laconia in 10 days with guys that like to go fast..... After that trip I'll decide whether to buy the 22" RK shield for long highway trips.

That looks awesome! I have the same bike (in Russia) and searched for the aftermarket replacement windshield for long time! Thought of the fairing, but don't want to overload fork since I am riding in heavy traffic in Moscow a lot! How tall are you? Is it good improvement from "mailbox" windshield for the tunes? Also would appreciate the photo of Arlen from the inside. Does the paint march the CVO paint?

Thank you very much for the picture - seems you saved lots of my days! :)

Just got back from Laconia.  Some of the back road speeds up to 90 mph.  From 65-90 mph you need to adjust the mailbox to just see the top side of the mailbox door.  The buffet hits the top of my helmet (I'm 6'1"), so strap down your half helmet and wear some motorcycle glasses.  I bought a set of HD transition glasses. Paid way too much but they work great with the strap attached.  I like the look of the CVO windshield and got a lot of positive comments at the rally.  I won't be buying any standard Road King Shields....

Bent Rod, I also like the look and the functionality of the glory slot.  I'll keep mine and may consider some other function down the road.
It puts the bike in its own perspective, like it or not... :2vrolijk_21:

Not being smart, but why is that?

For the past few days I've been riding with a full face modular helmet and no windsplitter windshield. I don't give a rats ass if MOCO did wind tunnel test it at a university. You can skew test findings to say whatever...... I'm tired of fiddle ducking around with the vent to get some reprieve from the wind noise. Riding with the vent fully closed is not an option unless you want your riding glasses and helmet to buffet weld together!

Who are these ppl that come up with this chit. I could put up with the fugliness if it were functional but it is neither; aesthetically pleasing or functional. I'm 5'9" so I guess once again I didn't fit the ideal height requirement. Anyways, ordered a stock Road King Classic 20"er today and should be taming the breeze by the weekend!

I don't know....I'am 5' 11'' And have no issues with the letterbox screen. There is a bit of buffering over the 120kmph.....about 75mph in yaall lingo. But you don't get to play in that speed zone to often here in Oz.....Damn Cops are everywhere over here. But with saying that. This is the first screen I have ever sat behind other then the one on me car. :nixweiss:

"yaall lingo" Where did you come up with that one Aussie? We're part of the same Commonwealth and as such, I am aware of what 120 kmph is. Perhaps your 5'11" is mostly legs in which case you would not be phased by the height. Unfortunately I think my height is more in the body so maybe the blast comes from that. Anyway, safe riding to you.

;D...Seeing what ya's mean with the buffering. Took me mate standard King for a run the other day. And huge difference.....Don't shoot me man. Like I said.....First screen I've ever ridden behind. But yeah. I can still live with it. But might look at a standard Screen one day...
I'm a short legged bastard also.... ;) :2vrolijk_21:

I mostly ride without a shield, but I wear a full face lid. I don't have any issues with the new SERK stock windscreen and have used it a few times, but I feel it is too tall for my taste. When I did use the stock SERK shield I tried it with the "mail slot" closed, but found I liked it better open. I do like to use the 11" Road King screen I bought from the dealer which is Stock on '08 FLHRSE2. It's P/N 58163-02 if you want to check it out. If I stand up straight, I am 5'10"  :)

Anyone out there know of a different windshield for the CVO Road King? The stock definitely cuts down the buffeting but the wife says she gets more wind than the standard RK.
I am new to CVO (got SERK CVO week ago love it) but what is the number 5 meaning here? FLHRSE5
tnx
