Which Screamin Eagle Tuner?
« on: February 21, 2020, 06:22:40 AM »

It time to replace the camshafts tension shoes. So I figure, I may as well change out the stock camshafts. The bike(103ci) currently has the SE Stage Air Cleaner Kit and SE Street Cannon Performance Slip-on Mufflers. These were added to the bike by the dealer with ECM calibration. I am considering this tuner since they do not need to be attached to the bike permanently. I am not considering any of the aftermarket tuners. And one more question guys, I know it's not a topic at all, but I have to ask. Does anyone know a good Canadian gambling website with casino bonus codes? What do you think about this website - https://casinobonus-ca.com/bonus-codes/

JMHO,

TTS Mastertune Turner. Save your money on any that you mentioned above.

Not sure why you’re limiting yourself to HD only tuners.  You have a 103, so it’s not a warranty thing you’re worried about.  I had a TTS Mastertune on my 110 and was completely satisfied.

The Pro tuner is not available any longer and the Street tuner is watered down. Get the TTS Mastertune and don't look back!

Sounds like you need to do more research on tuners, or talk to someone who works with them. I base this on your comment "Don't have to be attached to the bike".
Not sure what you meant by this comment other than maybe you are not aware how they really work.
The Screamin Eagle Tuners were changed after the EPA situation and fines and are pretty much a thing of the past unless you are worried about a new bike warranty. Call or talk with HD-Dude (From this site) or someone you would use to tune your bike after buying the "Tuner" and let them help.

I wouldn't assume you don't have warranty. If you do as I do on my 2010 you have to stick with the SE street tuner. If not, contrary to what some think, you can't get the SE pro tuner from another bike. However, since it has been previously married to another bike you must find someone to unlock it. There are people that will do it for a fee.. Check ebay😉.
Having said that, I have done a bit of research on the SE pro tuner. It seems that the MoCo has been screwing with even that... When I downloaded the SE pro super tuner software, some of the configurations tune files are gone...
For example once updated, I couldn't find the tune file I was looking for. The heading was there but the tune file was gone...
I called a dealer I know has a dyno and has been tuning for years.. The tech confirmed that seemed to be correct.. He said that when he has to tell customers that he doesn't have a tune file they are pissed..
He said they prefer the TTS Mastertune. It is my understanding that the person who started/programmed the SE pro tuner is the owner/creator of TTS Mastertune.
If I didn't have a powervision now. ( Still unmarried) due to warranty until next spring I would definitely get the TTS Mastertune. It does as much if not more than the SE pro super tuner.

Out of curiosity as I am in this boat as well but I actually have the POS SESTP. I'm putting a header on and want to move to either the Power Vision or the ThunderMax. I'm looking towards the TM so I can swap back in the ECU.

Any comments on the differences between these two?

I have the powervision as well. I like the fact that the powervision allows the factory functionality of the ECU but allows you to play with it. The thundermax is wideband as opposed to continuing to use the narrowband O2 sensors. You can run a mixture that is richer with wide band that will get better performance than the narrow band OEM setup.
However, if I want to switch to wide band, I would get the Dynojet Target Tune addon for the powervision. This would allow you to have the continued use of the factory ecu and diagnostic function with wide band capabilities.
If I want to go back to factory config I can reflash the original tune that was backed up when the bike was married to the ECU.
I am in no way an expert just done a bit of homework and still a lot to learn..
One thing to consider using wide band setup like these is that you mileage will go down but the bike will run better, have more power but run cooler as well. So I guess it depends on your goal...
I am still pondering the wide band setup with Target Tune. It would be nice to run at 13.5 AFR but I would try to run leaner at cruise speed for better mileage.
Not sure how I can check that shouldn't have sold the wide band I had in my sportster... for tuning I guess...
