Title: 3" V&H Slip-Ons onto FXSTSSE2 - Instal Mount Issues

Thought I would keep the OEM look for now but upgrade the stock mufflers to Vance and Hines 3" Slip-ons. Having mount issues. There is no way the supplied mounts will fit the stock 2008 Springer holes.

Do I have the right mounts? See invoice.

Mate the 2008 FXSTSSE2 has the same mounting system as a 2008 Fatboy . I use a stock Fatboy OEM system to comply/licence US import 2007 and 2008 CVO Springers here in Perth WA

Those slip on mufflers in your photo are for a 2007/8/9/10 etc Softail Custom/ Nightrain/ Heritage / Rocker / Softail Standard

Same muffler body and dimensions but way different mounting brackets as you have found

Yep. Ta. I had to swap the slip-ons for a slightly different model. Same straightshot look but mounted up great. The CORRECT 3" VnH Straightshots were V16827 Vance & Hines STRAIGHTSHOT HS SLIP-ON 07-15 SOFTAIL FLSTF/FXSTD. These fitted my FXSTSSE2 99% right. Needed a couple of washers on the bottom slip-on just to move the strap bolt a whisker "outward" so that it missed the stock chrome axle cover when the suspension is working.

Now chasing up an original cover.
