Engine build on a 110 SE road glide ultra
« on: March 28, 2012, 07:51:56 AM »

Hey everyone, I have just completed a winter project on my 2011 SE road glide ultra, which included removing the tour pak, fender, etc.  But most important was the engine build.  We went with the SE hurricane heads, 266E cams, 64mm TB, upgrades SE pistons (can't remember the number), SE velocity stack and breather, with the kuryakyn crusher slip ons.  The dyno numbers were 128/118.  Enclosed is the dyno sheet.  It has a good looking curve and pulls good through the range.  My question is, should I be concerned that the torque is lower than the HP at 118.  And what suggestions would you make if any.  It is so smooth, and starts easy.  We had an issue starting at first, but change the base tune. Thanks for any comments or suggestions.

Looks good to me for having a big cam with such a late closing.

You break 100 Lb Ft at under 3K, with a fairly flat curve and little drop-off past 5K.  I'd be happier than hell!  Nice AFR graph as well.

N----I----C----E!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

I happened by my local HD dealer a while back and he was tuning a bike like yours with those cams. They had done head work, pistons, throttle body Etc.. If I remember it was similar to yours. All I can say is that it sounded Freakin' Awesome! The shop had done the build a few weeks prior and the tech who did the build and the tune had only got something like 80 HP and 100 something TQ. They said he was pissed.

The shop's parts manager, who does tuning on the side, convinced the shop to let him do the tune. If memory serves me correctly I think he ended up with a bit more torque (2 or 3) but less horsepower (6-8).

I would not be concerned at all with your build. As my old buddies Grandpa who built nitro burning funny car motors used to say, "Torque will get you off the line but Horsepower will get you there quicker".

My stock 110 with pipes runs better than my old 88 with cams but wow you're in a whole new league.

Cold cranking pressure.
8 complete cranks on the stater, with the throttle plate wide open, battery charger in place.
