Title: Fingers are important!
Post by: adkg12 on July 14, 2015, 09:46:08 AM
So recently I had my bike up on the lift and I was giving it a real good cleaning.  I was almost done and on the last wheel (front), and while I was slowly rotating the wheel with my right hand, the end of my pinkie got caught by one of those jagged chunks that stick out of the hub.  And of course, commenced to cutting the end of my pinkie nearly off.  It actually gouged to the bone and then lifted up from underneath the hunk of meat and displaced the tip of my pinkie meat.  Well, being the badass that I am (or think I am .. maybe just stupid), I went inside quietly, and cleaned it in peroxide and alcohol and pulled the meat forward and slid it back dont the finger tip bone and calmly butterflied it all back together.  We dont need no stinking stitches!!  Honestly, it probably needed 8-10 stitches, and maybe even some on the inside as well.  But you'll be happy to hear, it is healing up nicely and I can still ride just fine.. LOL
Here's a pic for those that might wanna see.  This was a few days after it happened.  It looks pretty good really..LOL

And now you know.. And know is half the battle..

Nope...   :(

Apparently pulling them off is a more destructive process than cutting them off...  Fortunately it was just the little one!

Yikes - that must have been inconvenient sadunbar... We see a lot of loggers up our way with missing digits from that industry.

At first, I dropped a lot of change.  Little kids would follow me around and gather up my pennies and nickels and dimes...    :nixweiss:    :huepfenlol2:

looked like I got in a fight with a web wacker!

Reading this thread has given me that same pit of the stomach feel as when i nearly had my finger cut off by my wedding ring when it got caught in a 4-wheeler ramp. I did the same thing and taped her up even though any ER room would have done a stitch or two or three. ;D ;D

I am off to jerk some teeth out of a dudes head to make my stomach feel better. :orange:
