On the cvo rg. . I went to install the custom dynamics ringz in the turn signals. . The right side wasn't to bad. The left side was awful. . I ended up pulling. A wire out of the little plug. . . Barley able to slide in a screw driver to release the bulb. . Really sucks. . . I think I have to call the dealer. . Really hate that. .

Looking at this from the assembly point of view, I think the the lamp is plugged into the connector, lens goes on, than the wire is pulled through the housing, mounted on the bracket and plugged into the main harness.
Does there seem to be any slack behind the location the light housing is mounted?

I hate to even suggest this, but before you make that appointment at the dealer you may want to consider pulling the outer fairing and adjusting the harness from the inside. The wires go from the lamp housing, through the mounting bracket and into the fairing where they're taped to the inside of the fairing in three places. From there they plug into the fairing wiring harness. The LH and RH turn signal wires are the same length so there should be enough slack between the lamp and fairing harness to give you the wire you need to easily change the bulb. Not a big deal. Someone probably just pulled that LH wire a little too tight when they taped it down.

As for the socket the wire pulled out of, they should be available from the dealer. A pair of needlenose pliers and a little bit of solder and you'll be good to go. The service manual should have instructions for removing the socket from the plug.

I called the dealer. Pretty good guy that's the manager. . He
Ordered some pins. He didn't keep any on hand. I know the fairing has to come off. . I'll wait for the pins and do it properly. . Thanks. Stuart.

The toughest part will be removing the old pin and wiring and fitting the new pin in the plug. The service manual gives a pretty good procedure for removing the fairing. The one thing they're a little vague on is which screw to take out of the Willie Wings (Yeah, that's really what they call those little wings on the outside of the inner fairing.). It's the bottom screw. The top one can stay in place. Good luck and have fun.

Hey Stu,,, watch this video about removing the fairing. Ignore the part of installing the screens if you don't have any to put in. If you think you'd like to make some yourself, I have a PDF template I can send you.

Thanks Mike. Doesn't seem like too big of a deal to pull off the fairing. . Maybe I'll do that. Pull the wiring out with the turn signal and bring it to the dealer to install the new pins and plug. .not sure if I know anyone that has the crimp tool. It's really small. . . . Stuart

i pulled the ground on mine trying to get it off. i pulled the fairing off lucky for me i was able to snap it back in easily.

Good job. . I need to replace the pin that broke off from unsuccessfully trying to get that back in there. Really sad that it has to be like this just to change out a bulb.

I found the pins today. . Pulled the fairing off. . Thanks Mike. It was easy. Gonna have a friend of mine crimp on the pin. Then put it all back together tomorrow night. .

Be careful putting those windshield screws back in. Those brass nutserts are soft and can strip or crossthread easily. When I had my fairing off the other day to clean under there and repaint my vent screens, I ran a 10-32 tap into them just to clean them up a little. Someone else had posted that on this site a while back so I too their advice.
