Zumo SD size limit...?

Anyone using more then the advertised 2GB?  Read that some folks are using 4...

You can use bigger SD cards, however the Zumo will only read 1000 mp3's. The rest of the storage can be used for pictures, routes, etc. I've got a 2GB (400 +/- songs), and a 1GB (200 +/- songs) so if music is all you're looking to add then a 4GB would probably do you.

I have a 4GB card maxed with MP3 and it seems to be playing the full card.

I have a 4gig SDHC card which I have just put all my North America maps and routes on plus a 2 gig SD card for Europe.

Seems to be OK.

I use a 4gb for my country library.  Divided the tunes into folders of 75 (thanks d00d!) so they would load quicker.  Somewhere over 300 songs on that one.

2 gb cards load more quickly - also 75 song folders - and they are only about $20 now.

Wise words of advice from my oldest kid when I was downloading songs on the net from here & there:  Beware the dirty hippies, they'll send you viruses & corrupted files & screw with the songs in the middle.  Damn dirty hippies caused to to have to re-download a few songs even after his warning.  Best to listen to them all the way through if you can or even better download from CD's or other MP3 sources that are safe.

I am an IT type - who hacks for fun.  Won't say my home network is impregnable - but it would require some advanced skill to bypass what I have in place, and I don't allow the wife or kids to download stuff w/o my permission.

thanks for the hints on the sizes and config - scored two 4GB SANDISK cards for 10.50 free shipping on eBay.

I am closer to an IDiot type than an IT type, but I have almost figured out what the electrical magic info-travel gnomes do when you turn on the computer.   ;D

I use a 4GB card on my Zumo 550 and it has about 750 songs on it. Sometimes it loads quickly, say a minute or so, sometimes it takes 3-4 minutes. I am used to it now though and I either leave it on battery power for short stops (30 minutes or less) or turn on my ignition (to accessory) as soon as I get to the bike. This way while mama is "getting ready" to ride, my zumo is getting ready and is done by the time we pull out.

2GB card............but I switch the music out so often it never even remotely gets full.  Works for me.

Just got my 2 2GB cards...  For some reason when I insert them in the Zumo - it shuts the Zumo off?

Despite being the uber geek - these are the first SD cards I have ever owned.

When I put it in the SD slot of my laptop, it locked it up!  They are SANDISK cards...

Suggestions?
