« on: March 16, 2009, 06:25:42 AM »

The bike is ready to be picked up and i noticed it came with european map disc.(big help when i am 10,000km's away)
Have been told Australian maps are not available.
What brand or model is the one fitted to the bike based on.
Will another disc from say a 550 work
Any ideas, solutions or reason for the non availability

Is there same GPS with another name that will have compatable map

Thanks I am totally lost.

After searching internet i think i have answered my own questions
Correct me if i am wrong
Harmon Kardon
could not find anything relating to HD's system but assume its similar to the 510
The US map cannot be updated so no chance of finding OZ map as 510 not available here
Some of the better reviews described it as JUNK
i guess it will point me north south east or west

I do have a zumo 550 if i realy need a gps but for a $62k + bike its a bit ordinary.

I hope the sound system lives up to there good reputation.

The European maps delivered with the bike in 2009 are from 2006. I know it does not make you feel much better, but maybe a little bit.

Ride safely,

It's even worse, the discs were produced in 2005 as they shipped with 2006 model year, if you have not already purchased a zumo there is a new model (zumo 650) due any time soon (April 1st so they say).

Cheers,

Kev

Being that you already have a GPS unit, use that one and forget the bike has one.  I finally got mine working, but far from comparable to any stand alone GPS.
