"Ball & Chain" hears music crystal clear at 90+...
« on: September 06, 2013, 02:38:03 AM »

At 90+ "The Ball & Chain" says that she can hear the music crystal clear while riding with me on the '09 SERG. (not even full volume)

J&M Rokker XTs in fairing and vented lowers, Rokker 500w amp in the fairing, HK head unit with rear aux, f/r preamp outs, switched headphone jack by Iron Cross Audio.

Both J&M and Iron Cross Audio are really great to deal with!!!

500w's...we can hear you all the way here in Cali with that kinda power!!  What size speakers did you go with in the fairing and lowers?  Easy install?  Harness easy to work with?

The reason that you can hear me in Cali is because I'm in Crescent City headed South ~ no $h!t. LOL

J&M Rokker 7.25s both in the fairing and vented lowers.

All the J&M stuff is totally plug n play, fits right in, one of the main reasons that I went with J&M.

J&M packages their stuff bike specific and have great support / customer service!!!

The only wires that I had to buy separate were 2 pair of 1' RCA patch cords since I went with f/r preamp outs on the HK head unit.

I went with f/r preamp outs on the HK head unit.

What's the advantage to using the pre-amp output instead of the high-level

It bypasses the amplifier section of the HK head unit which has always sounded "muddy" to me.
