I was flabbergasted when I researched replacement tires for my bike at 21K. The Dunlops are available as OEM through HD dealerships ONLY.
That's D 408 (front) 130/60B 19" and D 407 (rear) 180/55B 18".
I've found a few rear tires but the load rating is considerably less. J&P Cycles has the rear but at no discount.
Anybody have in luck on locating a discount source on these tires other than the usual 20% HD Dealers where you have to pay freight?

My 2009 SERG has an 18" front, but the same size rear as yours. Yes, they are sort of odd sized, and I noticed that too, that the few aftermarket mfg's that actually do have the matching sizes, are less on the load rating. For a touring bike, I'd rather stick with the stock Dunlops with the proper load rating than sacrifice that for a tire that may be a bit more sticky. I think the Dunlop D407/408's are a decent all around tire.
I can't help you out as far as where else to get discount OEM tires, other than the 20% off places, but like you said, by the time you pay the freight, it's not much of a savings.
Depending where you are, you could always order from the nearest 20% off dealer, then ride over there and have them install- Zanotti's lets you do that....they just charge a $20 pick up fee.

I went with the American Elite from Dunlop.. www.jakewilson.com

I have the Dunlop E3 radial and love them. Little different size but no problem. Most of the people that work at my dealer use them. They wish HD would use them as stock.
