Cage trip in the mountains
« on: January 12, 2007, 10:23:01 PM »

Took a trip in the Rubicon over the pass to our new home site to see how much snow we have.

Maybe 3-4 feet or soin places around the construction site.

It was a gorgeous, crystal clear, cold day in the pass (10-15 F).  I took a few pics going over and back.

Another, the snow and ice on the tree branches was really neat

Heading home we caught this water running and freezing on Snoqualmie Pass.

Can't wait until it's all gone and spring is here so we can make the same trip on the bike.

Rob,

Nice pics !
I like the mountains with ice and snow (not on the road). 8-)
It's the first year where we have not seen the snow in my location.

We're having crazy weather here, it's supposed to be near 70 and I'm planning on taking advantage of it!

Nice pics Rog,
I wish we had a little bit of that white stuff here. If I can't ride I'd at least like to go camping! Ski resorts are hurting in this area. The area where you're building looks beautiful, what a view.

It is pretty in the winter when the days are so clear.  Unfortunately we don't get that many clear ones here, Colorado and the Rocky states do better on the weather.

So when opportunity presents itself its worth the drive.

Remember it will be country and vistas like this in July when were heading for Nelson and the nelson area has even more magnificant mountains and views.

Roger,

You have a great looking place there. Your part of the Coast, BC & Washington are sure getting hit hard by some pretty crappy weather. However, looking on the bright side look at the great skiing on the West Coast and the Rockies, Banff, Lake Louise, Japsper, the Crowsnets area, Revelstoke etc. are having record snawfalls this year.

The Trans Canada Highway, all the way through Rogers Pass, Revelstoke and Golden area has been shut down at least two times this week alone due to the Avalanhces.

Oh yea, your going to have to show us the pictures of your place in summer and when it is complete.

Leo, you are so right.

The best part about the big snow here and in BC, is the true colors of the area will be in full blume when the CVO gang gets here in July.

The snow will irrigate the area all summer, which will be way better than an early drought.
