Title: Show us your custom front fenders!!
Post by: rayson56 on April 01, 2021, 07:49:52 PM
I've been toying with the idea of having Joe @ Xtreme Dimension's match me up a Hugger style front fender for my 18 CVO RG. I think it would look killer, especially with the 21" Knockout front wheel. He recommends Klock Werks fenders for this but says that he is open to others. The two that I am debating between are the Slicer and the Level from Klock Werks.

Being able to use a Wheeldock is imperative as I use one daily to park on my lift and I also use it in my trailer, and it appears that these will have the clearance that I will require. (Still checking on that)

I would like your thoughts and especially some pic's and details as to what you folks have done with your bikes, what you used and the pro's and con's.

TIA

I have thought about installing a fat tire kit on my 13', but hesitant because of the thought of trying to match my paint scheme.

Joe @ Xtreme can take care of that.  FYI, these kits and paint will take a while due to shortages in metal and paint, it you plan for 6 month, you will not be disappointed.

Joe does Fantastic work, but it takes a while even pre pandemic.  Worth the wait if you want it an exact match and perfect.

That's the exact fender and paint that I'm considering! Looks awesome.

So I decided to pull the trigger on a Klockwerks Level front fender a couple months ago. I had it sent directly to Joe at Xtreme Dimensions for paint match. It's finally finished and headed my way via SlothEx.
Since I live a little north of Seattle, an in person visit was obviously out of the question since he is located in New Jersey, so all of our communication has been done by text or phone calls. It turns out he is a really interesting guy that I had some great conversations with. I asked him for a picture so that I could put a face with the voice on the other end of the phone, then I figured, with Joe's permission, that I would share that photo with the people on this site. Oh yeah, and a shot of my new fender. Can't wait to get and install it. I'll post some pics once that happens.

Heeeere's Joe!

So, I finally received my new Klockwerks Level front fender from Joe today and just finished doing the install. The install was very straight forward of coarse and everything is included, except for some loctite.
I was very concerned about the clearance at the rear of the wrap around fender and using my Wheeldock, which I park in daily on my lift and use in my trailer. I am happy to report that the new fender clears it by about 1 1/2".

Here's a pic of the clearance.

Also the fender is low enough in the back to divert most of the water and dirt from the front tire below the oil cooler instead of directly in to it.

I'm extremely happy with the quality of Klockwerks fender and spacers. Joe's work is impeccable and he even painted the spacers to match perfectly. This is a great upgrade that runs about $1000.00.

In my case I had been thinking about this upgrade for awhile. After my local shop had damaged my front fender while changing tires a few months back, I got them to step up, and my share was considerably less. WIN, WIN!!

Looks great, do you have paint special for just a cvo on your horse?   I am thinking of going the fat tire look on mine but I am concerned on a painter being able to match the paint.

Joe does great work, I have used him.  He does have a long turn around time.  Worth it though.
