Very helpful, thank you. Also good info about the wiring, I wondered about that. I'm 5 7 and I can get on the backrest but it could be more comfortable with some pullback. Not looking forward to extending the wiring lol
To follow up - I did go with the 2 + 2 narrow sweepers. I found conflicting information on extending the wires so I called KW to ask. Nice guy and he assured me the factory wiring on my 2016 Limited would be long enough, and told me that the clutch cable was the most difficult problem but most got it to work. Everything did reach except the heated grips, but just barely. I could have easily spliced the wires but decided to make my own extension plugs for the grips. In ordering the connectors and pins my dealer told me about 69200034, a 10" extension kit for both switches. Throttle cable was easily long enough, so what with my handmade heater extensions (plugs made for 18-22 gauge wire) and the factory extensions I was in business. The clutch and brake had to be rerouted but that was simple and the length worked out perfectly.
Cons -
Without extensions the switches would reach but it was very tight, as in can't fold the batwing down to work on it. The wires would have to be disconnected every time you needed to tilt it. That was a tighter fit than I wanted, the hd extensions were only 30-35$. Heated grips had to be extended.
The holes for the cables weren't large enough to fit the plugs through, so some surgery to enlarge the holes and smooth the edges.
Pulling those cables with plugs was very difficult. I should have used a little soap or something but I pulled them dry and I really don't know if they would come back out without the plugs wedging and pulling free. It was a tight fit, like an elephant in a tutu.
Maybe this info will help someone out. It's been too cold to ride but Friday looks promising, can't wait to try them out. New position seems good but we'll see!
