I just discovered my head gasket leak on rear cylinder of the shifter side. Am I in danger of riding it to the dealer? Its about a 1 1/2 hr ride. It's not losing compression right now.

Check oil and make sure it's full, ride easy and you can make it

Oil was just changed so that should be good..You think it ok then?

I put 6000 miles on a leaking HG. Others have put more on than that too! Don't worry about it! ;)

And those are 6000 Howie-miles. They're like dog years except the math works backwards. 6000 Howie miles is like 360,000 for everyone else. 6000 Howie miles also equals .75 motors ::) .

I ride with a guy that does that to snow machines. The last thing on earth that you want to do is end up with one of his machines after he is finished with it. :2vrolijk_21:

You said head gasket in the above post, if it's truly the compression head gasket, then I wouldn't ride it to far, if it's the cylinder gasket and your just loosing a little oil you should be fine. Old Harley's use to leak like this all the time.
