Have you guy's ever used Never dull? Is it safe on chrome? I hear it really works well to remove backed on crap off your chrome and will remove baked on water spots? Thanx.

Have used it for years on the really cruded up places like the rear wheel. Basicly 000 steel wool with a mystery chemical.......mystery cause I don't know what it is.

So this stuff will never "micro scratch" ( don't know what ells to call it ) the chrome?

Not any that I have ever seen. I don't 'bear down' extremly hard. Repetitive lite back & forth, repeat. You will be impressed.

use it every time I clean her. no scratches ever. Works on polished aluminum, chrome, almost everything. just takes a small wad of the cloth(?).
highly recommend it!

It's a great product that I've been using since the 1970's. (I don't get the steel wool comment above) it's a can stuffed with wadding or cloth fibers similar to cotton balls, but stouter. The cloth is soaked through with liquid polishing solution. You just pinch a piece of the material from the can and start rubbing it on the metal. It is similar to applying polishing compound with a wad of cotton. I'm certain that there is some minute abrasive in it but is very very fine. I've never been able to scratch anything with it...but I've made lots of scratches disappear.

000 steel wool was prob wrong choice of description. It feels like 0000000 steel wool, toughest cotton ball I have ever seen.

Owe a small apology to MrSurly. Was at the barn and saw my can of NevrDull, it had been a yr or so since I used, so I got it down. He was correct! Feels like some type of impregnated super cotton! Damn I hate it when I'm wrong, glad it rarely happens :nervous:

Cool, thanx for the feed back. I getting some at Canadian Tire tomorrow. Have some baked on H2O spots that nothing seems to touch. Cheers.

Another way of eliminating those pesky hard water deposits is to mix 1/4 cup of white vinegar with a qt. of distilled water. Use this in a spray bottle after your final rinse once you've washed your bike. Just spray it all over your bike and dry as you normally would. And no, it does not harm that expensive H-D paint job and is not corrosive to you metal parts. This will greatly reduce the amount of visible water spots you see and thus, the amount of time you spend trying to remove them.

You do realize that vinegar, any type, is basically acid? NEVER use it on paint for any reason. Probably get by on chrome but NEVER on paint. Anything that will remove rust from pitted metal is not safe on your paint and vinegar works great for rust removal on metal.
Buy a water softner, much safer.

You are correct that vinegar is acidic in nature but is very mild and when diluted with distilled water, which has very low mineral content, is not strong enough to do any harm to your paint. This method has been used for years by professionals on show bikes and cars with very expensive paint jobs without issue. You are also correct that a water softener would be the idea method but that isn't always an option when the vehicle might be washed other than at home.

X2 on Never Dull. Much easer to use than a liquid or creme to polish. No drips and it doesn't get pushed into cracks and crevasses. Ive used this on chrome for years with no issues. For those tough spots on chrome that Never Dull won't remove, try a little Turtle Wax chrome polish. It has a little more bite, so less pressure is needed, JM2C.

Yep, like some others been using NeverDull on the Centerline wheels on the Cuda' since 1974. Works great, takes some time,but when I do the wheels people always ask, "did you buy new rims".

It is amazing at cleaning the white walls on tires as well !!
Tried it for chits and giggles and I giggled so much I just about chit !! LOL

Have used never dull since the 60's cotton wadding with a secret solution, works best on aluminum and brass however great on chrome too.

Never dull great on allum, lots of better and milder/gentler products for chrome. Folks who state they have used it for years on the chrome, they were using it on chromed steel, now most chrome is over softer, harder to chrome alum + EPA has removed alot of chrome's "Bite". I would stay away from alum polish on my newer stuff it does clean chrome, but it also slowly removes it as it does.
Really want to care for your chrome, call Advance Chrome in Nashville, they are the king of chrome and ask them what to use.
