You are so right Jessie, been happening for many years with the 110. Spend $40k on a MOTORCYCLE and say "that's ok" when it takes a crap!
My $42K car has everything you can think of on it, and if it had any of the mentioned problems, it would be replaced under the Lemon Law and then down the road!

Follow up.  Picked up the bike on Thursday night.  I have to give kudos to Precision HD in Pawtucket, RI. for the way they handled this situation.  The bike was diagnosed on Tuesday 7/15 and I got it back on 7/17 with complete new rear cylinder installed (with new Jackpot headpipe and VH monster rounds, Power vision tune by Fuel Moto). Rode 275 flawless miles yesterday.  Hope it was just a little bump in the road!

Taz I drive a 1996 Chevy 4x4 rust bucket truck. I paid $2000 for it 4 years ago and have pulled a trailer with it out of state 4 times and it's never failed me yet the first 4k trip I take on a 2 year old bike the valve fails. Sad.

I purchased a brand new 2014 FLHTKSE CVO Limited Electraglide this spring after having ridden many years on my 2000 FLSTF Fatboy. After an uneventful break-in period, as the bike neared the 5000 mile service it developed a loud ticking noise. After the service, the noise remained. Initially, the dealer's service technician told me that it was normal valve train noise. After I complained again, I left the bike with the dealer so that I could have some peace of mind after a second look. Long story short, after a week at the dealer and several erroneous diagnoses, the problem was finally discovered as a broken outer intake valve spring. Apparently, the spring broke in two places, but didn't cause any further damage to the top end. This was repaired under warranty. When I picked up the bike no paperwork or formal explanation was given for the problem. I haven't heard a word from HD either. I have put about 700 trouble free miles on the bike after the repair. Since I really love the bike, I hope that this was a rare problem that won't be repeated.

I bought mine in late August and haven't had any problems in over two thousand miles. I just completed the Iron Butt SaddleSore 1000 ride this Saturday and it didn't hicup once. I averaged 80 mph for about 21 hours only stopping for fuel from Omaha, NE to Laramie, WY and back. Averaged about 37 mpg which I kind of expected with a new engine and the speed. I changed the oil after the break in period to Amsoil and did the 1000 mile service requirements myself. It rode like a dream and was so comfortable! Everything on the bike worked like a champ. The heated seat and grips were really nice once the sun went down and it started getting cold. My only complaint is the navigation system, I liked my Zumo much better and it had really good features that this system can't even touch.

just out of curiosity J...was the failure before or after the mods...or was it why you did the mods?

I agree with the cruise and Ptt switches being awkward. Went on a group ride using the CB  and found it difficult using the ptt  and operating the throttle.
