Yes please do share.  Based on this thread back when it started I contacted Gary and got an excellent rate for the 1st year however after the first year I had to give him a shot at my home and auto as well which he could not come close to my present company.  So, when I got my renewal it had doubled.  I have found this with several companies that want everything or nothing.  I'm back with Riders Plus getting gouged like everyone else.  My rate is based on a 5 star rating with advanced driver training (Harley Skilled Rider Course) and over 10yrs riding experience at $1,600.  Never had a claim, ticket etc.  I just called them this week for a quote on a 14 Switchback I am looking at adding and it is $1,250 so $2,800/yr for the 2. (My wife wants to get her licence so that will go up to $1,800 for the Switchback.)  Soooooooooooooooo, we get to pay 20-25% more over our American Friends for our original bike purchase and here in Ontario we pay 13% sales tax and $100 tire tax.  We get to pay about 100% more for insurance.  Our fuel costs generally run 50% over American.  Hey, but we have free health care, oh wait, here in Ontario most pay $800/yr payroll tax for Ontario health care.  Lastly, because I worked hard for 32 yrs then retired with a modest pension which I paid 12.5% of each pay into, I like to enjoy my ride for a couple extra months and head to Florida for Feb and Mar now and this year every American dollar is going to cost me $1.42 CND presently.  Now don't get me wrong, I and we, enjoy an excellent standard of living and generally our wages are excellent but I always said I never needed to make more, I just need to have more in my pocket of what I did make.  Sorry for the rant and some what off topic but insurance costs etc here just boil my blood.  Cheers!

I am currently with Mark Guilbeault & Associates LTD. (905-834-0521) :2vrolijk_21: a broker with Aviva Insurance Co. of Canada. This is the best rate I could find for the last two years, and I get quotes form everyone each year. I currently pay $1025.00 on my 16 year old Triple Red, and $611.00 on my wife's Honda 750 shadow (also 15 years old).  My riding buddy bought a 12 Road Glide new a couple of years ago and is paying $1300.00 for his insurance.  It just doesn't seem right to me that his bike ($22,000.00 value) and My Bike ($12,500 value if I find the right buyer) are only a couple hundred dollars apart in insurance costs.  This industry is worse than the casino's ... the house always wins  :nervous:

TD Insurance recently started covering motorcycles, they have some magical formula that gets you coverage for a full year at roughly half the price of any other underwriter, I've saved lots already.

I have TD Insurance. It went up 25% for this year. Clean driving record and no tickets. Have you got your renewal notice for this year? Would be curious if yours went up as well.

Yes, mine went up about $100, it's still cheaper than anywhere else though.

I bet if you check it out, the variance in premiums has a lot has to do with where you live.  At least that's what I've been told and could be the same for the different increase levels???

I have three bikes insured with Riders Plus, so I thought I would call TD yesterday to get quotes, Td is at least ten percent higher on each bike. I will stay where I am for now.
