Anyone have their milage pins?
« on: May 06, 2010, 12:34:27 AM »

Has anyone signed up for HD milage program and recieved their 1000 mile pin? 5000 pin? etc. If so can you post a pic of your pin(s)?

No way I'm ever going to turn a bike ride in to any kind of an administrative task.  But a girl I lived with for five years or so was WAY in to this crap.  So for that stretch she collected pins.  Here's what they look like.

Looks like in that roughly 5 1/2 year stretch we got mileage pins through 350,000.  There were a couple of others scattered elsewhere on this vest but they looked to be only increments within this group that, apparently, didn't fit well.

Milage pins I thought would be a great thing to have. So I filled out the paper work and they started coming. Then with all the bike changes it came to be another thing Harley does not do well. They could not keep up withall my milage and bike changes. I got tired of fighting for a free a free pin so I just gave up.  :(

When I started they didn't have the 1K pin, I have them through 40K and should have the 60L by the end of the season.

Agreed.  A bike ride should never be an admin effort.  Throw a leg over, smash a few bugs and ride a little.  Rinse and repeat.

I have mine mounted in a shadow box with other pins I've collected.  If I'd started out riding Harleys I'd have a lot higher number - got my first Harley in '99.

When you reach the 100k increments you get a nice plaque for your bike.

There was one benefit to dealing with the stupid things Charlie.  The girl who liked them always got excited as the mileage got close to another.  It was an excuse to road trip and she always followed the rule about no bras on road trips.

Now that IS a huge benefit.   :D
