Does anybody have access to a NADA book?
« on: December 15, 2012, 08:54:26 AM »

Trying to find out what my 2011 FLTRU is worth. KBB says about $17,400 trade in & a little over $21k retail. Local dealer says NADA is what they go by & claims he can only give me $15k tops for mine on trade ... I just want to make sure he isn't trying to bs me.

My local dealership told me they don't use KBB or NADA published values.  They use what they call the "Black Book".  Apparently, the Black Book trade in value for my 2010 and 2011 CVO is about $4,000 less than KBB, etc.  I called BS.

There is a "Black Book", and a lot of auto dealerships use it.  But I believe you were right on the money to call BS.  Tell the ace at the dealership to show it to you in the current issue of the Black Book.  He most likely won't let you see it, or he'll try to confuse you as to which numbers apply to your trade-in.   http://www.blackbookusa.com/home.aspx?m=3&s=1&t=S&i=16

Find another dealership and see what they offer.

I bet they use the one with the highest retail price when it comes to selling it whether it's the Black, KBB, Nada, or dealerwillscrewyou book.

It really boils down to what you are willing to take as the least amount of $$$ to sell your bike and what someone else is willing to give you.
